We are so proud to have won the Best Innovation award at the Franco-British Business Awards 2024 for our groundbreaking use of the HP SitePrint Robot at the Oriel construction site. Developed in partnership with HP Construction Services and Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence’s Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon, the HP SitePrint Robot automates the layout of primary fitout information directly onto the concrete slab, enhancing both quality and productivity. Equipped with ink marking capabilities, obstacle avoidance sensors, and safety light features, the robot can print partition lines, room numbers, wall codes, door openings, and various other critical details with an accuracy of 3mm. Watch our team at Bouygues UK dive into exactly how this robot has transformed ways of working on site here: https://lnkd.in/g7AZAHYV Lewis Wenman, Lead BIM Manager at Bouygues UK said, "We are absolutely thrilled to have been recognised at the Franco-British Business Awards for this innovative solution. The introduction of HP SitePrint is a gamechanger, bringing 2D drawings alive in the field, providing clear visibility in setting out and coordination for the project team. The site teams now have confidence in the setting out and can plan installation and temporary storage of materials, reducing waste and labour." Across the UK, there is an undeniable need for housing and infrastructure, and yet, in the face of an escalating climate crisis, these must be delivered sustainably. One effective and transformative solution lies in the Passivhaus standard, a pioneering approach to energy-efficient buildings that aims to drastically reduce carbon output and enhance occupant comfort. Peter Courtenay, our Passivhaus expert at Bouygues UK, explores the benefits of this solution on the latest story on our website. Peter delves into how the Passivhaus standard acts as a stepping stone to operational Net Zero and the ways in which Bouygues UK is harnessing this approach. We have completed Peckham Flaxyard! Bouygues UK and Southwark Council came together to celebrate this milestone which marks the successful delivery of the £46.8m mixed-use, residential-led development, a scheme which will significantly benefit the local community. Ishmel Brady, Project Manager at Peckham Flaxyard, has a particular passion for the scheme: "Having grown up in Peckham, it has always been my dream to build something meaningful in the area. Creating social value is integral to our ethos at Bouygues UK. In a recent conversation with Tim Ashwin, Director at Tim Ashwin Consulting Limited, our Head of Social Value for the South West & Wales, Donna Griffiths, discusses how the most effective way to deliver social value is through early and continuous engagement with local communities. For public bodies and developers alike, integrating community voices is crucial for maximising socio-economic benefits and ensuring projects are sustainable and well-backed by key stakeholders. Bouygues UK exemplifies this approach, actively collaborating with local groups to support communities. In her conversation with Tim, Donna highlights initiatives like the on-site employment hub at Pentre Awel, where we are assisting long-term unemployed individuals, engaging local students in design projects, and supporting apprenticeships. The healthcare sector in the UK is undergoing one of the most significant infrastructure transformations in recent history, driven by the ambitious New Hospital Programme (NHP). Bouygues UK is proud to be one of the early pioneers on the NHP as part of the first cohort with our involvement in the Oriel project in Camden, helping to influence the Programme delivery process going forward. Central to this is the use of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), which offer faster, more efficient, and sustainable solutions compared to traditional approaches. However, while MMC presents many benefits, the industry is not yet fully equipped to deliver MMC at the scale required for this ambitious programme. Head to our website to read Design Director, Colin Boyd's exploration of what MMC can bring, the challenges it presents and Bouygues UK's adaptive approach to MMC: https://lnkd.in/d5BxCdgc #MMC #NewHospitalProgramme

We are excited to partner with artist and storyteller Meg Khan, creator of the Seen the Stories initiative, to empower women in finding their voice and confidence. Meg's work celebrates diverse stories, raising visibility and capturing powerful narratives from individuals across London and beyond. Through our collaboration with her, we are highlighting the inspiring journeys of women in our industry, amplifying voices often unheard. Meg’s connection to Newham, as both a Plashet School alumna and governor, aligns with Bouygues UK's commitment to supporting local talent as we deliver Canning Town's large scale regeneration scheme, Hallsville Quarter. By celebrate these stories from across not only Bouygues UK but other female colleagues at Colas Ltd, Colas Rail, and Equans UK & Ireland, we hope to inspire the next generation of women in construction and engineering. Thank you, Meg Khan, for helping us make these narratives seen—and heard! Read the full story on our website: https://lnkd.in/eB88F8kw #SeentheStories #WomeninSTEM
