🏦 Credit In The Bank... but in which account? 🧢 For the manager or head coach, keeping credit in the various accounts that need attention is an important consideration and in this week's Breaking Lines Podcast we explore some of these challenges. 🎽 The Dressing Room 🚩 The Fans 💰 The Ownership and Executive Level Group 🎙️ and The Media all need regular depositis to keep them in credit. ❌ But what happens if you drain one of these accounts - and to top it up again you withdraw from another. We often see managers criticise players in order to placate fans but this can have a huge negative effect in the dressing room of course. 🎽 And 'losing the dressing room' - if it is a thing (and we all really know it probably is!) - can manifest itself in so many ways. Results, of course, but also a disaffected leadership team or key influential athlete who begins to erode the squad's belief in a manager. 🧢 Choosing a Captain in a Professional Football Club is not straightforward! 🔢 With multiple types of 'Leader' available to the Head Coach or Manager, the choices can be quite complex with so many different elemnents going into decision. For example - 🧮 How many Leaders do you have in the group? 🤷♂️ What types of Leaders do you have? ⚽ Which type of Leader would suit different situations? 🤝 Where is the team/club at in terms of group dynamics and leadership needs? 🙋 Who WANTS to be the Captain? 🫢 To this end, and considering the staff and head coach dynamic also, going about the process of picking that Captain (Leader) is not a simple task always. Expecially if an established player is already in that role or an alternative Captain has been recruited into the organisation.
