Did you know today marks the end of Children’s Grief Awareness Week? 💛 Navigating grief is never easy but it can be especially difficult as a young person. At Cancer Fund for Children, we offer bereavement services to children and young person we are supporting who become bereaved through cancer, giving them a safe space where they can explore their feelings and build connections with others who are going through something similar 🌼 We recently welcomed 11 young people whose parent had died to our 5 day #SayTheirName programme. The young people worked together to explore the impact of grief, using creative methods like puppets, art therapy and journaling to better understand the feelings, thoughts, physical changes and changes in family dynamic that had taken place in their lives. Young people were introduced to the phrase “Grief is as unique as a fingerprint” which helped them to understand that while they were connected in their experience, everyone’s individual thoughts and feelings were valid and deserving of space ✨ #ChildrensGriefAwarenessWeek #GriefExperience #TogetherThroughCancer
