It was brilliant to attend #HeritageDay2025 on Wednesday with the rest of the #Heritage sector at the Tower of London! Represented by Director Stuart and Project Manager Josh, we enjoyed engaging with this year’s theme of ‘Heritage Creates’, and hearing from speakers on how Heritage can create: 🔘 #skills - how investing in tradition craftspeople can open the doors for future generations to have long lasting careers 🔘 #solutions - how government is leading by reforming outdated systems and processes 🔘 #enterprise - how funding can unlock the conservation gap and kick start regeneration 🔘 #homes - how unblocking barriers to retrofitting opens the doors for more residential homes 🔘 #stories - how real people connect to their local built heritage in real ways 🔘 #communities - how creating pride in communities can cataclysm rejuvenation At Chana Projects, we are committed to working with our clients to #conserve built heritage, but also to #create exciting new chapters for heritage sites, injecting them with a new lease of life and bringing them back into the centre of our communities for people to enjoy and take pride in for future generations. Thanks to The Heritage Alliance and Historic Royal Palaces for putting on a brilliant event, and we look forward to collaborating more with the wider heritage sector. #ConserveAndCreate #HistoricBuildings #ProjectManagement

☀️ How good was #HeritageDay2025?! It was wonderful to hear from and connect to so many heritage colleagues and peers yesterday at the Tower of London. Particularly enjoyed hearing the passion with which so many people spoke about their roles, from trusts/charities to archaeologists, who work across places and spaces across our built and natural heritage. Great to attend with Stuart Henniker-Smith on behalf of Chana Projects and hear the strategic and political thoughts from Carole Souter, Andrew Jackson, Fiona Twycross (Baroness Twycross), Duncan Wilson CBE, and Nick Merriman as leaders in this space. Also refreshing to hear from other professionals like Daahir Mohamed, Cedric Tigier, Martin Prince-Parrott FRSA RIBA, about their thoughts on how heritage can create skills and housing. Seeing people speak with passion gives encouragement for the future of a sector which plays a massive part in telling the story of our local communities and all the way up to our national landmarks, just like the amazing venue we were at all day! Thanks to The Heritage Alliance, and the team (Lizzie, Delphine, Emma, and many more), and host Historic Royal Palaces, for putting on such a brilliant day of insights and collaboration with people who are so passionate about our heritage. Looking forward to continuing the conversation! #ConserveAndCreate #HistoricBuildings #BuiltHeritage

🎉 Scheduled Monument Consent and Planning Permission approved! 🎉 🏗️ We are delighted to share that SMC and Planning Permission to replace the sails at Chesterton Windmill has been approved by Historic England and Stratford-on-Avon District Council. Owlsworth Ltd recently completed the works to all four different components for the sails, and now that approval has been granted it means we can move the sails from storage to site and prepare them for installation in the next few weeks, so stay tuned! 👷♂️ The Project has also been welcomed by representatives from Warwickshire County Council. Cllr Christopher Kettle, Councillor for Feldon, and Ayub Khan MBE, Warwickshire County Council's Head of Libraries, Heritage & Culture, and Registration Service, both visited in December to see the progress of Chesterton Windmill's stocks and sails. 🔗 For more information please click the link in the first comment below #ConserveAndCreate #Heritage #ProjectManagement Client: Warwickshire County Council Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Contract Administrator, & Heritage Consultant: Peter Chana, Chana Projects Architect: Luke Bonwick, Bonwick Heritage Contractor: paul sellwood and Jon Spalding, Owlsworth Ltd

Have you visited the 'Made in Birmingham' exhibition in our Industrial Gallery at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery? ‘Made in Birmingham’ explores some of the characteristics of Birmingham and what it means to be shaped by this city. Whether you’re a lifelong resident or a passing visitor, everyone has an opinion on Birmingham. This display looks beyond the stereotypes to examine the real Birmingham – sometimes wonderful, sometimes frustrating, and with a tendency to knock everything down and start again. This video is a time-lapse of the exhibition installation process.

This week marks #NationalApprenticeshipWeek, and presents an opportunity to highlight the incredible value that apprentices bring to businesses and the industry. We are proud to support the next generation of construction and heritage professionals through a balance of structured learning and hands-on experience, which forms part of our ongoing committment with the The 5% Club. One of those is Ryan, our Project Coordinator, who is currently undertaking an apprenticeship with the The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). Since joining last year, Ryan has already worked on a diverse set of projects across several sectors, including healthcare (with Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals), heritage (with the National Trust), and local authority (with Warwickshire County Council). He's kindly shared that he’s thoroughly enjoying his apprenticeship with the CIOB, and that it’s equipping him with the technical knowledge, leadership skills, and industry insights needed to thrive in the built environment, all while learning on-site and making meaningful contributions to our projects! Ryan’s story with us so far is just one example of how apprenticeships can pave the way for a successful career, and we look forward to seeing him develop into a successful Project Manager and leader in our industry. If you or someone you know is considering an apprenticeship in construction, project management, or heritage consultancy, please do get in touch! #NAW2025 #NationalApprenticeshipWeek #Apprenticeships #CIOB #ChanaProjects #FutureLeaders

🐻 Chana Projects had a fantastic time at last night's Bears Business Club networking event hosted by Warwickshire County Cricket Club at Sixes Social Cricket in Birmingham. 🏏 Normally held at Edgbaston Stadium, the evening was a great opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals in #Birmingham and wider #Warwickshire to share insights and build relationships. Peter and Josh attended, and Josh also had a go at the ‘Beat the Pro’ game against WCCC players (sadly to no avail)! 💬 Thanks to George Shakespeare, Alex Johnson and the rest of the WCCC/Edgbaston team for the invitation and for running the event! #Networking #BearsBusinessClub #BusinessGrowth #Edgbaston #WarwickshireCricket
