Happy Mad Friday, everyone! I’m not sure if it’s quite the same down south as it is up north, but up north, Mad Friday is absolute carnage. It’s that time when the once-a-year drinkers come out and chaos kicks in after just a couple of beers! I have to admit, I’m a bit too old for all that these days. I’d much rather grab a quiet pint with my best mate, Zelda. In dog years, she’s only 14, so maybe I shouldn’t be sharing this picture, but here she is. As a lifelong Man Utd fan working at Charlton, I did my best to convince her to support United, but it turns out she’s gone for Charlton instead (smart girl!). I’m hoping she can be our lucky mascot heading into the new year. I’m taking a few days off now to spend with my family—it’s well needed after such a busy year. Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and a fantastic start to 2025. If you’d like to arrange a call in the new year—whether it’s about Charlton, football, sport, or business—my inbox is always open. Reflecting on 2024 and Looking Ahead! As we approach the festive season and the end of 2024, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on my first year as Head of Commercial at Charlton Athletic. It’s been a year of challenges and growth, both personally and professionally, but I’m incredibly grateful for the support I’ve received from our fans, sponsors, partners, hospitality guests, and everyone at the club. Living in the south as a northerner, you’re never quite sure what to expect, but the welcome I’ve received has been fantastic, and it’s made a real difference. This year has laid the foundation for some exciting developments, and while we know there’s more work to be done, I remain confident in the club’s direction. On the pitch, I still believe promotion through the play-offs is within our reach, and off the pitch, we’ll continue working hard to grow and deliver for everyone connected to Charlton. Thank you to everyone who has supported the club this year. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a successful New Year. I’m looking forward to what we can achieve together in 2025. #CharltonAthletic #CAFC #2025Goals

The PFA allowed me to start my work career at Charlton Athletic Football Club in 1992, so a very proud moment to be presented with a long service award yesterday. Thanks to PFA Chief Executive, Maheta Molango, my long term area manager, Dave Palmer and ex-player and good friend Dr Michael Bennett Dave has been part of the journey for over 30 years at the PFA and as a Trustee at Charlton Athletic Community Trust and given so much personal support to me. Michael was brilliant as a player when at Charlton supporting our community work and provided help to my Dad when needed a few years ago - so it meant a lot that both were part of yesterday. Thanks for everyone’s support over the years !
