Established in 1922 and incorporated in 1940, Chas Berger is a family-run business whose core values have built a strong foundation and reputation as a resilient and competent contractor of choice. We are extremely proud of our trading history. The building blocks for the business were laid during and immediately in the aftermath of World War II, when we specialised in construction and refurbishment works, helping to rebuild London homes after the Blitz. We are now a multi-disciplined medium-sized company working throughout the public and private sectors to deliver planned works, traditional refurbishments, repairs, maintenance, and fire safety works from one-off projects to multi-million-pound frameworks. We partner with Local Authorities and Housing Associations across London, Greater London, the South East, and Home Counties. On Wednesday, Father Christmas made a special visit to the Stamford Hill Estate, where we are currently delivering re-roofing works, to deliver presents and festive cheer to the children living on the estate. 🎁🎅 This was a great success and so lovely to see the children waving and calling out to Santa ahead of collecting their gifts. At the request of the residents Santa even had time for finale performance before heading back to the North Pole. 🎅 Matthew House ACIOB you were outstanding as 🎅 Luke Culling (or Elf as the children referred to you ) 🧑🎄 you have bought so much to this role in the short time you have been here. We’re thrilled to announce that we've been been shortlisted in the National Housing Maintenance Forum (NHMF) awards for ‘Most Innovative Property Services Project’. Our nomination is for the replacement of flat roofs on two high-rise residential blocks on George Downing Estate #Hackney #London, which have been suffering from historic leaks. This project was the first emergency application to the Building Safety Regulator under new regulations, setting a new standard for safety and compliance while ensuring effective response to a situation that required an urgent intervention. Our Capital Investment Team worked closely with Building Safety as well as Chas Berger and National Rail to design and deliver the work to this higher-risk building, which was made more complex due to proximity to a live railway line. They developed innovative scaffolding designs to ensure safety and by using high-performance materials, they significantly boosted thermal efficiency, durability, and the overall aesthetic of the buildings, leading to substantial long-term cost savings and better living conditions for our residents.
