Research from Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) indicates that: ♻️Young adults show high entrepreneurial activity and are leading the charge toward sustainability-focused businesses. 💻The gender gap in technology entrepreneurship is narrowing, with women starting tech businesses at nearly the same rate as men. 👍Black and Hispanic entrepreneurs exhibit a more optimistic outlook and confidence in starting businesses compared to other demographics. Yet, entrepreneurs still face many challenges, such as access to finance, education and mentorship—all of which are crucial for business success. Women entrepreneurs face additional challenges due to deeply rooted sexist beliefs and biased systems that hold them back from achieving their full potential as business owners. Published on International Day of Families 2024, the paper outlines successful interventions to build caring economies in line with the feminist concept of the “5 Rs” of Recognition, Reduction, Redistribution, Representation and Reward for care work.
