Our CEO Rory Sullivan joined a discussion hosted by LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) and the IFRS Foundation on the future of corporate reporting. A major focus of the discussion was on how AI is reshaping the production of information (by companies, by data and ratings providers, by customers) and reshaping the interpretation and use of that information. David Harris, Jaakko Kooroshy, David Averre, Nick Anderson, Claire Dorrian, Anne Simpson, Gillian Karran-Cumberlege, Vanessa Havard-Williams OBE, Natasha Landell-Mills, CFA, Elsa Palanza, Will Goodhart https://lnkd.in/esceGYNx
We were delighted to welcome the Trustees of the IFRS Foundation to open trading in London this morning. The Market Open was followed by a discussion with the IFRS Foundation on corporate reporting in the future. Topics discussed included factors affecting how companies report, how technology and AI are re-shaping how investors consume financial information, and the extent to which geopolitical changes are affecting corporate reporting priorities. The discussion was led by Julia Hoggett, CEO of the London Stock Exchange and Erkki Liikanen, Chair of the IFRS Foundation Trustees and included senior figures from the investor, corporate and technology communities. Update from Laura Fox (Chronos Sustainability's Manager, Agriculture and Biodiversity) who worked has worked with Tony Juniper CBE on his new book, Just Earth, which analyses the interactions between social inequality, climate change and biodiversity. https://lnkd.in/eHtHzg_X
The first copies of ‘Just Earth’ have arrived. Always a big moment to handle an actual printed copy of text that was in this case three years in the making. It has been a hard book to get right, considering the complexity of the subject matter, but looking at it again now and I’m pleased with the result. The Bloomsbury team have done a fabulous job on the production side and I’m now very much looking forward to it being published on March 13th.

Our CEO Rory Sullivan has contributed to Emanuela (Emmy) Hawker's article in ESG Investor reflecting on the challenges facing investor and banking net zero alliances. https://lnkd.in/e7QN8TXT
With cracks shaking the foundations of #netzero alliances spanning asset management, insurance and banking, there is clear concern that the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ) as we know it is heading for the emergency exit. Although there is understandable disappointment that #GFANZ is pausing critical work on #nature transition plans and #indexinvesting, as well as taking another look at its priorities, increased pragmatism doesn't mean the body is slashing its ambition. For my feature this week, I spoke to GFANZ, Andrea Webster (World Benchmarking Alliance), Sean Kidney (Climate Bonds Initiative), Mark Campanale (Carbon Tracker), Katie Stewart (ShareAction), John Lang (Net Zero Tracker), Rory Sullivan (Chronos Sustainability), and the Net Zero Asset Owner Alliance. Hannah Wakelin, Chronos Sustainability's Programme Manager Health spoke on the role that institutional investors can play in encouraging better corporate performance and reporting as part of a wider discussion on corporate air pollution hosted by Air Pollution Footprint Partnership. https://lnkd.in/e3F5_msk
A great success at our in-person networking event last night for the Air Pollution Footprint Partnership. It was fantastic to get likeminded organisations together to discuss the solutions and successes of corporate #airpollution reporting. We had some great speakers sharing their wisdom and experiences around: 🔸 The role of #investors encouraging corporate air pollution reporting (Hannah Wakelin from Chronos Sustainability) 🔸 The Alliance for Clean Air (Roshni Mehta from Clean Air Fund) 🔸 Ricardo's experience of calculating and reporting air pollutant emissions (Oliver Bleeker from Ricardo plc) (find their air pollution emissions in their Annual Report here: https://lnkd.in/eBaz-Y9q) 🔸 Air pollution as an issue of health equity (Yasmine Y. from Clean Air Fund) 🔸 The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and the future of air pollution reporting (Susanna Arus from Frank Bold) Huge thanks to Christopher Webb and Poppy Newton from tp bennett, one of our most engaged organisations, who hosted us for the evening, and to our funders Clean Air Fund and Impact on Urban Health. Thank you to the committed APFP team at Ricardo plc for organising the event and hosting the event (Guy Hitchcock, Ella Wingard, Tom Buckland, Patrick K. Harland). If you're an organisation interested in air pollution reporting, please don't hesitate to check out our website and reach out: https://lnkd.in/eGtbFNkq #airquality #airpollution #cleanair #corporatereporting #ESG #health #investors #networking #CSRD #sustainability
