The AlixPartners “Food Service Growth Report” event took place yesterday at the beautiful RIBA. We were proud to partner with EP Business in Hospitality and AlixPartners for the event that hosted almost 200 attendees. We heard from people across the industry, including Bill Toner about how he built up the CH&CO business and what he has learnt along the way. 📣 Compass Group UK & Ireland – Healthcare will be offering free meals to the parents and carers of unwell children in hospitals (paediatric patients on extended clinical care plans) - meeting a wish set by a remarkable young girl, Sophie Fairall, that forms part of “Sophie’s Legacy”. 🙌 Working side by side the Sophie's Legacy charity and NHS England our healthcare teams have become the first hospital caterer to make this amazing commitment - to ensure that parents and carers can access free food on wards. The State of The Nation's Food Industry report is launched today. The report looks at the progress UK food businesses are making in supporting the transition towards healthier and more sustainable diets, and what needs to happen next. The Food Federation highlighted the work within our market as integral to the health of the nation. Nicky Martin RNutr, Director of Nutrition and Wellbeing, commented on the report. “We are proud of making progress, but we know there is much more to do. At Compass we have the size and scale to create significant impact and we now need to accelerate our plans significantly to ensure the highest level of progress continues. In the second year of reporting Compass has recorded further reduction in salt, fat and saturate fat, alongside procuring and serving more vegetables."
