About us
Connect Plus is a consortium that includes Edge Orbital Holdings Ltd, Balfour Beatty and Egis Investment Partners - a unique partnership with a collective strength in highways maintenance and management. Over 10 years ago, Highways England awarded Connect Plus the contract to operate and manage the M25 and its key arterial link roads. We're incredibly proud of the fact that it's Highways England's flagship private finance initiative (PFI) and is the largest highways PFI ever awarded. During this time, we’ve delivered over £1.4bn worth of road improvements and junction enhancements, and we are continually exploring new and innovative ways to deliver safer, more reliable journeys for our customers. The M25 network plays a pivotal role as the hub of Highways England’s strategic road network, supporting journeys in and around London, and connecting customers with other parts of the UK and Europe. We pride ourselves on working collaboratively with Highways England and our supply chain partners in providing the framework for delivering core operations and maintenance services as well as significant asset renewal and improvement schemes. We value our stakeholder relationships, which is why we’ve invested heavily in achieving and maintaining accreditation to the internationally recognised standard ISO 44001 for collaborative working. Together with Connect Plus Services, our specialist and strategic supply chain partner responsible for operations and maintenance, we’re passionate about delivering the long-term needs of the M25 and improving the driving experience for all our customers.

We're very proud to be working with others in the Highways sector to raise awareness of traffic management incursions. The incursions working group, a sub-group of the Supply Chain Safety Leadership Group, has launched a social media campaign featuring YouTuber WillNE, to address the real threat posed by vehicle incursions. The campaign, funded by Breedon Group plc and developed by MHP Group will run across various social media platforms including Instagram and TikTok. We’re thrilled that together with Connect Plus Services, we were announced winners of the ‘Digital Initiative of the Year’ at the British Construction Industry Awards! This entry recognises our work with Alchera Technologies to extend working windows on the #M25 using data to assess if it’s safe and financially viable. This allows more work to be completed in a single shift, lowering the total number of closures and disruption to road users and surrounding communities. We’re thrilled to share that our M25 project team, in partnership with AtkinsRéalis Connect Plus Services, Connect Plus and National Highways, received highly commended in the Highways Magazine #HighwaysAward within the Innovation Award category. This recognition celebrates the bridge strengthening works that we completed last October at the M25 J3 Swanley Interchange on the eastern side. The team successfully completed the UK's first installation of Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer Rods (CFRP) on the M25! This innovative approach addressed the issue of the deteriorating bridge structure, originally built in the 1970s, where traditional steel plates wouldn’t have been a suitable long-term stabilisation solution. We are currently undertaking works on the western side and nearing completion of the programme. Well done to everyone involved.
