Curative Co. are the digital marketing manager for a leading hair & beauty brand in the UK. This brand hold a special place in my heart, they’re one of the first brands I started working with and like with all my clients, I work so closely with them that they start to feel like my own! Which means I want them to grow as much as possible! This year we faced obstacles of stock shortages (which hit mid year), therefore our focus shifted away from acquiring new customers to retaining ones we already had. We were still acquiring customers but due to very low stock it would have been a waste in marketing spend to put as much money behind paid ads therefore at the end of quarter 3 we shifted attention solely to Email Marketing and Pinterest management for this online store. Despite this obstacle, I’m still pleased with what we achieved: Mid-2024: Stock shortage impacted 16 products, leading to inventory challenges. September 2024: Halted paid ads and shifted focus to email marketing to retain existing customers with limited stock. Revenue Performance: Achieved nearly £100,000 in turnover for the year, showcasing strong brand demand despite constrained inventory. Customer Retention:Returning customer rate declined modestly by 3.31%, reflecting the success of email marketing in maintaining customer loyalty despite low stock. The strategies that will make you THOUSANDS of pounds in revenue each month from email marketing. I didn't mean for that intro to sound so clickbatey 😂, but it's true. Below are recent strategy points from Curative Co. 's email marketing. We'd been noticing a recent dip in monthly revenue generated for one client so took some time to re-think things. Below you'll find points that have helped increase our revenue. Including, how we generated £502.99 from one email. 1. Even though sale emails do well, we don't like to do too many as there's always the risk that the brand can be known for their regular discounts and purchasing habits can revolve around constant sales. From this, we started sharing emails which educate, provide value and show the products in action. It's funny how when we're not actively trying to sell we generate big amounts. 2. Clean your mailing list! You may have 6,000 subscribers but is emailing all of them really that effective? We found that there were subscribers who had been inactive/unengaged for a long time and the most effective thing for us was to segment those who are currently engaged. These subscribers are already interested and a lot closer to purchasing than those who have disconnected from the brand. Segmenting subscribers allows us to work separately on those unengaged subscribers, so we can re-introduce them to the brand and lead them to purchasing further down the line. 3. Work on your email subject lines! For this email I took a more risky approach and used the following: 'This might get me fired. I should really gatekeep this...' Naturally, anyone who reads this will think "ooo I want to see who's getting fired" 😂 I also saw someone speak on how they'd avoid using ALL CAPITALS in email subject lines, as this leads to more emails being sent to your spam folder. We've been steering away from all capitals and noticed a difference. 3. Re-think your average order value (AOV). For this client, they operate in the luxury market, so their average order value is slightly higher.
