Last week a group of Year 11 students from both Delta and Coast and Vale participated in this year's Science Mavericks, a thrilling event that pushed their scientific boundaries. From estimating plant populations with quadrats to exploring electrolysis and chemical analysis, they tackled a range of challenges. We're incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication. The Princess Royal officially opened our brand new, state-of-the-art Beverley Road campus, marking a significant milestone made possible by a £20 million investment. The grand opening ceremony included a warm welcome for Her Royal Highness, featuring a guard of honour by our White Squad, a student parade, and a rousing performance by the Drum Corp. During her visit, the Princess Royal toured our impressive new facilities and met with our dedicated students and staff. Principal Dan Flack expressed his pride, stating it was an "honor to hear her commend us as a 'wonderful school with excellent facilities.'" Among the esteemed guests were dignitaries such as His Majesty the King's representative, The Lord Lieutenant of the East Riding of Yorkshire Jim Dick OBE, and the Lord Mayor, Councillor Mark Collinson. Dami Ojutaiye, a Year 8 student, even had the chance to meet the Princess! "It was an honour to talk with her and represent our historic school," she said.
