The MB-SLIMLINE system is a key element in this project, offering an ultra-slim profile and high-performance glazing that enhances the building’s visual appeal while meeting sustainability goals. As the refurbishment progresses by Bowmer and Kirkland Ltd, St Michaels promises to bring new life to this iconic site, with a mix of commercial and hospitality spaces designed for the future of Manchester. At Aluprof UK digital Advent Calendar we reached day 16 and here is a project from Manchester again. The Bendix St. project in Manchester, designed by Tim Groom Architects and delivered by GMI Construction Group PLC, is set to transform the local landscape with a mix of high-quality residential and commercial spaces. This development is a perfect example of modern design meeting functionality, with a focus on energy efficiency, safety, and sustainability. Elite Aluminium Systems Limited, the fabricator for this exciting project, has utilised a range of advanced Aluprof UK systems including MB-SR50N curtain walling, MB-118EI 2 hours fire-resistant windows, and MB-70 windows and doors. These high-performance systems are central to the project’s design, delivering exceptional thermal efficiency, safety, and aesthetic appeal, while ensuring long-term durability and energy savings. When completed this new facility will offer a six-lane 25m pool, accessible changing rooms, a 41-station fitness suite, multi-function rooms, and a café with 20 covers. After 5 years without a leisure facility, this site is ahead of schedule and due to open in Easter '25.
