Call for Contributors! We are excited to share further details about our Research Forum taking place next year and launch our Call for Contributors. Co-hosted with the African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC), the Forum will be a 3-day event held in Nairobi, Kenya, between 7-9 May 2025. Recognising the impact of the climate crisis on the health of populations affected by humanitarian crisis, the theme of our Forum is: Bridging Global Health Research and Humanitarian Response in a Climate-Impacted World. We’re inviting humanitarian health research, policy, and practice experts, with experience relevant to the key objectives and themes of the Forum, to contribute to making it a stimulating, engaging, and inclusive event. Our Forum objectives are: 🟢 Galvanising action on evidence gaps for climate-induced health impacts 🟢 Shifting power to lower- and middle-income countries 🟢 Promoting research quality, ethics, and impact 🟢 Fostering collaborations and partnerships We're looking for a diverse range of voices and perspectives, and creative contributions are welcome! We expect up to 50 contributors to be selected with priority consideration for applicants from a country or region affected by crisis. The Research Forum 2025 is looking for contributors to explore ways to shift power to researchers and humanitarian experts from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).    In global health and humanitarian research, there is an imbalance in funding, voice and power. Researchers and humanitarian experts from LMICs often come up against barriers that prevent them from leading and shaping international research agendas and partnerships. That’s why we’re dedicating an objective to exploring ways to shift power to LMICs, ensuring local expertise is respected and valued, and that research contributes to meaningful, sustainable outcomes.     We’re seeking contributions in areas such as:    ⭕ LMIC-driven research studies and research-practice partnerships that empower humanitarian experts from LMICs.  ⭕ Policy changes, funding models, and initiatives that enhance LMIC leadership and capacity in research initiatives.  ⭕ Ethical and culturally sensitive frameworks that support locally led research and evidence use by humanitarian health actors.     Does your work align with these priorities?
