Chairman, Armadillo. Chair of Governors, Kings of Wessex Academy. Chartered Director (IoD).

I’m excited to share that I’ll be the resident 'expert' (read: bloke who's messed up enough times to learn a thing or two) on a new programme in Bristol called Growth Leaders, supported by Bristol Creative Industries. It's all about helping leaders make better decisions—growing their businesses in ways that are both more profitable and personally rewarding. The approach has been successful on the South Coast, so it’s great that we can bring it to Bristol. Curious? The first taster session is *free*. Full details are below, or feel free to DM me to learn more. https://lnkd.in/eunVRdsK

Our next session with Bath Rugby Foundation underlines that as young entrepreneurs, you can learn from a wide range of areas. What can be taken from professional sports – team work, bouncebackability? And from the charity, importance of inclusivity and engagement..? #EntreConfGO All this and more is covered with our trio from Bath Rugby Foundation: Jonno Wood, Phil Owens and Liam Lintern. Through inclusion, education and social interaction, Bath Rugby Foundation builds life skills and develops confidence to improve young lives right across Bath and beyond. They helped over 4,000 children in the year 2022/23, changing young lives for the better. Jonno said: “Everyone deserves a shot, and everyone can help each other to turn their life around.” On working with young entrepreneurs: “When you’ve met one person, you’ve met one person. There are never the same types of personalities when meeting young and aspiring entrepreneurs.” Phil said: “When someone feels like they are underperforming, we ask what is happening and listen whilst also creating a safe space. Go with them on it but get an understanding of what they are going through. I’ve put myself in a good position in order to help get those who are struggling to get themselves in a good position, no matter how much time and support it takes.” Liam said: “Being in a dark place or discomfort feels like you’re at a crossroads not knowing what way to go. Young people do a lot of things to take away from conversations, e.g. trying to get attention on themselves by being removed from a lesson or throwing things around. My advice to get out of that dark place would be to celebrate the small wins as it will pick you up.” Safe spaces are different for a lot of people, and you need to create boundaries around it. Make a space that allows people to open up, be vulnerable and tell you what’s going on, and be confident in knowing you’re going to help them. Me 🤝 Yapping about degree apprenticeships Thank you EntreConf for giving me the opportunity to speak about my entrepreneurial experience so far and of course I had to bring in degree apprenticeships. I’ve said it multiple times but doing a degree apprenticeship (in my opinion) is the single best thing you can do for your own personal growth and career. Full time university is right for some people, it wasn’t for me. If you’re thinking about doing a degree apprenticeship and have questions, drop me a message! #degreeapprenticeship #entreconfgo #entrepreneur #business

EntreConf Go Bristol and Bath 2024: A Week of Inspiration and Connection ✨ In the past week, I had the privilege of attending EntreConf Go Bristol and Bath, a gathering of young entrepreneurs and more established ones as well. Filled with success stories, actionable insights, and - of course - plenty of networking! Every session offered something valuable, but a few highlights stood out: Amanda Spicer's Keynote: Her reflections on mentorship and the power of resilience were incredibly inspiring. The reminder to "Be More Buffalo" 🐃 and face challenges head-on, along with the principle that "Clear is kind", gave me practical strategies to apply right away. As well as reiterating how the concept of Kaizen is still one of the most powerful tools you can use in your business and in life. Tom Bright’s talk on sales: Packed with insights, and tools such as a sales canvas, I gained massive inspiration to put sales at the forefront of our business, after all, any business would die without it! Connecting with Stephanie Dodd and Greg Ingham, the powerhouse team behind MediaClash, whose efforts made EntreConf an unforgettable event. Their passion for giving entrepreneurs a space to connect and share is really inspiring. EntreConf Go was more than just a conference - it was a chance to connect and reflect. The stories and advice I heard reaffirmed the importance of mentorship, persistence, and building systems that elevate your goals. A huge thanks to everyone involved and the countless other speakers that I haven’t mentioned, I could write for days about the value every talk gave me! And thank you to everyone I got to speak to and connect with, I'm really excited to have you in my network and see how we can help each other grow and thrive! Here’s to taking these lessons forward and making bold strides in the entrepreneurial journey! 🚀 #EntreConf #Networking #YoungEntrepreneurs #Sales #Mentorship #bristol #bristolbusinesses #kaizen 📸 👤 Darius Jean Pranav Vyas E-J Roodt Olivia Coy Josh Simpkins Kyra Hardy Richard Spilsbury Maria Berryman Ella Trigwell Paul Kelly Anthony Dutton Toby Brown Sunjay Singh Weronika Stelmach Jaymie Penny Harry Buckland Alex Hill Emma Sexton Lily Majid Jeril Laiju Nathan Beudin Sean Ingham Delta Sports Management Delta Talent Solutions

🚀 Reflections on EntreConf: A Celebration of Innovation, Collaboration, and Ambition 🌟 Speaking at EntreConf GO was an incredible experience that brought together hundreds of entrepreneurs, advisors, and innovators in a truly dynamic event. This was more than a conference—it was a celebration of creativity, resilience, and collaboration. The closing session, where I was privileged to speak alongside inspiring voices such as Richard Spilsbury of Link Stone Advisory, Victoria Bond of School Guide UK, Harvey Aylmer of Aylmer’s Circus, and Kyra Hardy of Your Bath Guide, epitomised the heart of EntreConf: blending insights from seasoned advisors with the raw ambition of young entrepreneurs. Each speaker brought something unique to the table: Harvey Aylmer, a theatrical producer and founder of Aylmer’s Circus, reminded us of the magic of dreaming big, even when working solo. His reflection that “events like today make me realise I’m not alone” resonated deeply with many attendees. Kyra Hardy, who combines social media strategy with running a highly engaged local guide, shared invaluable advice about recognising the worth of your skills: “Keep your visions at the front of your mind... Keep your inspiration at the forefront.” Victoria Bond, whose platform has supported over 20 million parents, highlighted the shifting landscape of education and work, urging young people to carefully consider their post-16 pathways. Richard Spilsbury, an advisor with vast experience across finance, people, and IT, offered practical insights, likening preparation for entrepreneurial funding to sitting a driving test. I also had the opportunity to share some thoughts from my own journey at PANDEK Group - Facilitation - Training - Coaching (PGL). I believe events like EntreConf are vital because they inspire growth not just in business but in confidence and collaboration. My advice? “If you are the cleverest person in the room, you are in the wrong room.” Surround yourself with people who challenge you, ask thoughtful questions, and remain curious. EntreConf is a powerful platform for building connections across generations and industries. For young entrepreneurs, it’s a place where dreams feel possible, and for established professionals, it’s a chance to inspire and be inspired. To all the attendees, thank you for making this event so special. Let’s continue to create spaces where ideas flourish, and innovation thrives.
