Eon Visual Media Ltd is an award-winning independent Hull based digital media production company specialising in Animation, App Development, Design, Web Development, Digital Marketing and Video Production. The company employs 16 people and operates from a dedicated production facility and head office in Hull. The business has been established since the late 1980s and has won a string of industry awards over the last decade. Eon Visual Media has a diverse client base and works with organisations of all sizes and across both the public and private sectors. A big thank you to Diana Taylor Paige Leah McGowan & the team at Future Humber for inviting me to today’s Great Northern Conference. My key takeaways from the day:- • Our schools / teaching systems are broken. More engagement with employers, particularly SMEs will help guide the curriculum. A curriculum, which is no longer relevant to industry’s requirements, particularly around ‘green’ skills. • Devolution will enable our region to be heard, loud and proud ‘at the same table’ as our Northern counterparts; West Yorkshire, York & North Yorkshire, Greater Manchester & Liverpool. • October’s budget was “a once in a Government budget” - Rachel Reeves. From a business perspective, let’s hope so. • Can we stop calling them ‘Green’ Skills. They are skills that every business will need. Proud to see this event being held in my home City of Hull. Ps.
