EFFC-DFI Tremie Guide 3rd Edition released The EFFC and DFI have published their 3rd edition of the Guide to Tremie Concrete for Deep Foundations. This edition has introduced new insights and research from the task group and our academic partners on subjects such as: -options to reduce greenhouse gas emissions -strengthening recommendations regarding acceptance criteria for testing -interesting new findings from numerical modelling The Guide continues to be an essential reference for everyone working with Tremies on deep foundation works. It provides definitive values and acceptance criteria for the workability of concrete when carrying out its recommended site tests. Its use should support contractors, clients and consultants to avoid quality issues that can result from the workability of the concrete varying from the correct specification. 🇨🇭Calling for our Swiss Geotech Engineers Network: join us @ ETHZ for our upcoming event on ‘Quantified climate reporting in geotechnical engineering' 🌍🌱 Next week, on October 23rd at ETH Zürich, we’re gathering to discuss sustainability metrics and quantified climate reporting—an essential topic for the future of our profession, in an event hosted by and for the young members of Geotechnik Schweiz. You might remember that last year, in a stirring event with over 70 colleagues @ EPFL, we explored the growing influence of big data and AI in geotechnical engineering—key areas that young professionals are championing in the field. 📅 Event details: Wednesday October 23rd @ 17h00 at Hönggerberg campus (room HIL C 10.3) 17:05 – The EFFC - European Federation of Foundation Contractors carbon calculator and its use in geotechnical projects - by Luca Bruni (European working group, EFFC) 17:40 – Optimizing the Ecological Balance of a Construction Pit, by Konrad Westermann (Gruner) 18:15 – Results of the latest edition of the Swiss Geotechnical Design Challenge 18:30 – Dinner Apéro 👉 Register now here (free): https://lnkd.in/eEyZtDS8 Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with young professionals, share knowledge, and engage with our very special guests. I am delighted that Paul VIDIL, deputy technical Director of SOLETANCHE BACHY FRANCE has been elected Chairman of the European Standardisation Committee TC288 CEN and CENELEC, which deals with the execution of geotechnical works. This is a strategic role to lead the improvement of quality and the modernisation of our daily works and techniques. And also to adress the environmental challenges and consider the opportunities opened by the digitalization. Thanks to all our members of the EFFC - European Federation of Foundation Contractors for their support!
#Buildonus #civilengineering #geotechnicalengineering #foundations

EFFC Sustainability Working Group Chair, Luke Deamer talks sustainability with Ground Engineering Magazine.
How many times have we heard these sustainability questions at conferences: - But what about China? 🏭 - Doesn't all this stuff cost a load of money? 💰 - What can I do - I'm just one person? 👨🔧 - Don't batteries take a load of emissions to make in the first place? 🔋 - You work in sustainability, how come you still fly? ✈ In my latest article, I look at how we can respond to these questions and bring people with us on the sustainability journey. #sustainability #SustainableDevelopment #SDGs #Construction #KellerExcellence
