The Zeppelin Museum—home to the world's largest collection on the history of airship aviation—has recently undergone a significant lighting upgrade. RE:Light the night – Bristol’s first lighting design showdown! 🌟 We had an incredible evening at Temple1852 Bristol, hosted in partnership with teams from Hoare Lea, Arup, Skelly & Couch, Purcell, AECOM, and Max Fordham LLP. The venue, generously provided by TCNUK, is steeped in history, having once been the headquarters of the Bristol and Exeter railway. Here’s how it worked: - Teams had 1.5 hours, a mix of props, and random LED Linear & WE-EF LIGHTING samples to craft a unique lighting installation. - They could also use anything from the communal spaces around them—no limits to creativity! - Judged by Jim Shove FSLL (former President of the Society of Light & Lighting) and David Moore (The Lighthouse Design Partnership LLP). ✨ And the winners were… Skelly & Couch/Purcell Architects! Their imaginative Pirate Ship installation wowed us with vibrant colours and cleverly hidden LED Linear luminaires, bringing their concept to life in a truly theatrical way.
