We ended the day with an insightful presentation by Tore Alden, who took a deep dive into the effects of expanding sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production on corn and wheat markets, with a special focus on the Black Sea region. Today also marked the debut of the AgriTalks Lounge, where Ivanna Dorichenko led exclusive 1-on-1 interviews with Alejandra Castillo, Filipe Pohlmann Gonzaga and Yan Kozyrytskyi. Delegates enjoyed these expert insights through individual headsets, creating a unique and immersive experience. In the plenary hall, attendees engaged in critical discussions on the most pressing topics in the grain market. 🎉 The 23rd Fastmarkets Global Grain Geneva 2024 is in full swing!   Day 1 began with a welcome address and market round-up by our editorial director, Tim Worledge, followed by insightful sessions from David Whitcomb, CFA and Alexander Karavaytsev. They set the stage for our first panel discussion, where Cedric Pene, John Baffes and Tim Worledge explored the drivers of the agri-markets for 2024/25. Topics included the impact of climate change, digital transformation, AI, regulatory challenges and geopolitical instability, along with potential 'black swan' events for 2025.   After a networking break, Diana Sarungbam delivered an in-depth look at global pulses market fundamentals and trading trends. This was followed by an engaging panel discussion on global pulses market trends, imports, exports and prices, moderated by Sudhakar Tomar, who skillfully led the conversation with Mostyn Gregg, Will Watchorn, Janelle Whitley (MBA) and Cem BOGUSOGLU.   During the lively lunch break, the expanded networking area buzzed with delegates eager to connect.
