Update from Felixstowe Coast patrol and Rescue, Independent Lifeboat Over the past three days, 12 of our dedicated boat crew took part in an intensive Casualty Care course with the fantastic team at Trident Training and Consultancy Led by trainer Grant, the course combined theory, practical assessments, and scenario training to sharpen our skills in emergency casualty care. This training took place at our new base in Trimley, marking a big step forward in our commitment to keeping the community safe. A huge thank you to Trident Training and Consultancy for their expert guidance and to our crew for their hard work and dedication! 👏

Helping saves lives at sea 🚤 Our Suffolk business has cemented their links to #Felixstowe with a donation to the town’s independent lifeboat charity. They made a £3,000 donation to Felixstowe Coast Patrol & Rescue, Independent Lifeboat through their Community Champions scheme to fund vital crew training over the winter months. The crew cover 180km of coastline and inland waterways between #Walton and #Orford, and as well as responding to emergency calls they actively patrol to prevent dangerous situations arising. To celebrate the donation, the life-saving crew visited our Trelawny Place development in the coastal town with their boat. #PersimmonHomes

New Year’s Eve 2024 – Ipswich Waterfront Patrol The FCPR crew was on duty for a busy second shift starting at 11 PM on New Year’s Eve, dedicated to ensuring safety along the Ipswich Marina. Here’s a recap of our eventful night: 🔹 Incident 1: The crew stayed within the vicinity of a boat where a trespasser had been reported on board whilst other authorities dealt with it. 🔹 Incident 2: Navigating high winds, we continued our patrol, staying vigilant for any safety concerns. During this time, we assisted an individual ensuring they were safe and secure. 🔹 Incident 3: As our shift was nearing its end, we came across an individual who had collapsed near to the waters edge. The crew scrambled ashore to provide first aid, stabilising the casualty until an ambulance arrived. Both our boat and Land Rover support teams were involved in this incident. A big thank you to our crew for their efforts on New Year’s Eve and to everyone who supported us throughout the night. Here’s to a safe New Year ahead! #IndependentLifeboat #NYE2024

🎄 Felixstowe Coast Patrol and Rescue: Home for Christmas 🎄 2024 brought unexpected challenges for Felixstowe Coast Patrol and Rescue as we faced the task of finding a new Headquarters. Thanks to an incredible community response, we're so happy to announce we've secured a new headquarters at Searsons Farm, Trimley, while retaining office space in Felixstowe, supported by the Co-op. This year, we completed 39 patrols, covering 1,069 miles and assisting 64 individuals, including saving two lives. We also celebrated our first all-female crew and a sell-out shanty night to name a few achievements. Now, as we settle into our new home, we thank everyone who made it possible. 📔Read more in the end-of-year Felixstowe Magazine edition.
