🌟 A #VictoryHomes tenant in Dereham has transformed a life transition into an act of generosity, donating most of his belongings to benefit local charities. 🏠 The 78-year-old, now in a care home, ensured his possessions found new purpose with the help of Victory Homes staff and his social worker. 🎁 Over 20 items, including winter clothing and food, were donated to the Dereham Aid Centre to help the homeless as winter approaches. Other items, like medical supplies, high-vis coats, and white goods, were passed on to local groups and Victory tenants. ❤️ Dawn Ribardo, one of our housing officers who assisted the whole process, said: “It was a privilege to support this gentleman’s wish to give back. 🏡 We had a really useful and informative time at yesterday's Social Housing Annual Conference (Inside Housing Development and Regeneration Summit), looking into the bigger picture of the state of social housing across the country. Some of the highlights were on investment into, and the funding of, social housing, data-driven decision making, and addressing the housing targets set by the current government. We also had the closing speech from Deputy PM and Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government Angela Rayner, in which she reaffirmed the government’s commitment to tackling the housing crisis and supporting tenants across the country. All in all, it was an inspiring day of discussions, ideas, and collaboration, and our pleasure to meet other professionals from across the sector. #socialhousing #housing #solvingthehousingcrisis #shac

🌱 Residents of Reeves Court in North Walsham have transformed an unused space into a vibrant community garden, lovingly named The Courtyard Gardens! This beautiful project shows their pride and commitment to creating a welcoming, shared space for all. 💪 Thanks to the hard work of residents and the support of Flagship Services’ Neighbourhood team, the garden now features handmade planters, a flowerbed, a new bench, and a shed. Local residents sourced plants, decor, and even old railway sleepers to bring this project to life! 👷 Flagship Services' neighbourhood officer Jason Ding shared his joy and excitement for the garden, calling it a "brilliant example" of community spirit. He added, "It’s the residents who have made this into what it is, and I can’t wait to see it in a few months when things have had a chance to grow.” 🛠️ Carpenter Phil Kennewell, whose father lives nearby, crafted the planters by hand, creating a welcoming spot for neighbors to come together. Phil says, “Whether people want to grow something or just enjoy some fresh air, it’s a space for everyone.” 🌸 Some planters are already growing flowers and herbs, with young community members ready to add veggies like carrots and potatoes. We're proud to say that the space has even won the praise of North Norfolk MP Steffan Aquarone, who said: "The improvements have really contributed to making the place feel dignified and comfortable for residents." Happy #InternationalMensDay! We recently took the opportunity to hold an open conversation about the progress men have made in advocating for healthier workplaces and how they navigate evolving roles in our sector through our podcast, available to all staff across Flagship. Our guests – (L-R) Rick (Gasway Services Limited), Ed, (Flagship’s IT team), Ryan (Gasway) and Deniz (Flagship’s EDI team) – explored the significance of IMD, the importance of supporting men’s mental health, and how we can challenge stereotypes while fostering equity for people of all genders. It was a meaningful discussion that could have easily gone on for hours, but even in the time we had, it underscored the importance of these conversations year-round. #FlagshipGroup #EDI #equitydiversityinclusion

Elevate East, a new Learning and Development (L&D) network for Norfolk and Suffolk, launches next week, and we’re taking a moment to profile its three masterminds: Flagship’s Head of Group Academy Nadine Tapp, CAKE PD’s director Margaret Burnside, and Michael Casanova, director and consultant at Wilby Jones Consulting. Nadine Tapp: Nadine has been of Flagship since she joined as L&D Manager in 2015. She helped introduce our award-winning apprenticeship programme in 2015, and has recently completed a Chartered Management Degree Apprenticeship with distinction. Nadine is adept at coaching, mentoring, and developing comprehensive L&D strategies. She has been a key part of promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within Flagship. She’s passionate about skills development and the benefits it provides individuals, organisations and our region. Margaret Burnside: Margaret is an experienced coach, coach supervisor, and facilitator with over 30 years’ experience in L&D. Her focus is on leadership development and she is one of the few people in the UK certified in the use of the Mayer Salovey Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test (MSCEIT). As director of Cake People Development, she has overseen development programmes across a range of sectors. She particularly relishes the challenge of behavioural change programmes.  Michael Casanova: Michael, founder of Wilby Jones Consulting, is a business consultant, trainer, and people director with 20 years’ experience. He specialises in simplifying challenges and creating strategies that deliver immediate, impactful results. Michael collaborates with founders and leaders to clarify vision and develop strong leadership teams. He helps organisations build positive workplace cultures through empathy and insight. Passionate about technology and AI, he aims to shape a future of work that empowers individuals and organisations.
