Future Biogas is proud to be championing Project Carbon Harvest, the UK's first unsubsidised biomethane initiative, designed to help decarbonise both industry and agriculture. What is Project Carbon Harvest? This pioneering project produces biomethane (a renewable green gas) through the anaerobic digestion of locally grown energy crops. These crops are cultivated using sustainable and regenerative farming practices, serving as break crops within high-quality food rotations. Key Benefits: - Industrial Decarbonisation: By supplying biomethane directly into the national gas grid, industries can seamlessly transition to a cleaner energy source, reducing their carbon footprint without the need for additional infrastructure investments. - Agricultural Sustainability: The project supports farmers by integrating energy crops into existing rotations, enhancing soil health and facilitating diverse, novel crops. Additionally, the captured carbon dioxide (CO₂) from the digestion process (absorbed from crops during growth) is either stored permanently through geological sequestration (effectively removing CO₂ from the atmosphere), or sold to industry as a sustainable source of CO₂. **Join Us** We invite forward-thinking businesses to partner with us in this journey towards sustainability. By choosing biomethane and / or CO₂ from Project Carbon Harvest, you: - transition to a cleaner energy source, - align your operations with innovative, low (or negative) carbon energy solutions, - help enable meaningful decarbonisation across multiple sectors. Together, let's harvest a greener tomorrow. https://lnkd.in/eZwmxqdv #biomethane #cleanenergy #renewables #renewableenergy

Established in 2010, Future Biogas are a highly experienced developer and operator of AD plants across the U.K.
About us
Established in 2010, Future Biogas is at the forefront of the anaerobic digestion industry. We are a highly experienced developer and operator of AD plants across the UK, and able to provide full service capabilities of development, construction, operations, ongoing compliance and asset management, both to our own projects and to those of third parties. We operate plants for JLEN, Aviva, Bio Capital, and Aberdeen City Council. Our plants convert a wide range of feedstocks into clean, renewable energy, through a process of anaerobic digestion which produces biogas. Biogas can either be used to generate green electricity, or upgraded into biomethane and injected in to the UK’s national gas network.

Last night, I had the pleasure of attending the REA REsolution Reception at the House of Commons hosted by Bill Esterson MP, Chair of the Energy Security and Net Zero Committee. As we know, multi-sector collaboration will be key to delivering #netzero goals. Great to meet and catch up with lots of our network, representing many strands of our #renewableenergy sector. Looking forward to seeing what 2025 brings! #newyear #resolution Future Biogas

Had a fantastic experience attending the Oxford Farming Conference last week! 🚜 From watching Henry Dimbleby debate grazing livestock in the UK, to listening to Dieter Helm’s insights on environmental stewardship, the discussions were both challenging and inspiring. 🐄 🌳 Bram Govaerts’ talk on precision breeding was another highlight, showcasing how R&D innovations in agriculture can reduce its environmental impact and build crop resilience to climate change. 🌽 Thanks Future Biogas for the great opportunity! #OFC

Recently, Hazel Moores and I had the pleasure of speaking to a group of engineering MEng and MSc students at the University of Surrey as part of the Technology, Business & Research seminar series. This was a fantastic opportunity to introduce the world of anaerobic digestion and its role in the energy transition. During the session, we explored the process of anaerobic digestion and highlighted some of the exciting projects we’re currently working on at Future Biogas, including the development of our next generation of anaerobic digestion plants utilising carbon capture technology. We also shared our personal career journeys, offering advice on pathways into the renewable energy sector and highlighting the diverse career opportunities available. Thank you to Oleksiy K. and Michael Short for the kind invitation. If you'd like to have a chat and you are interested in a career in renewables, please get in touch!
