Happy Holidays from GCEOA-CIFAL Lebanon! Thank you to everyone who has supported and engaged with us this year. Wishing you a joyful holiday season, and we’re excited for what’s ahead in the new year!
The Global CEO Alliance (GCEOA) is a community of business leaders with one call to action – to steer sustainable economic transformation through collaboration and collective effort of the private sector, in driving global change and impact. We are guided by the belief in Sustainability Shared, an open system that enables organizations to place both people and planet at the heart of the economic system. It is built around a long-term vision of collaboration and collective effort – of sharing of and access to, information, best practices, tools and resources - toward sustainable development, where value creation is measured through economic, environmental, and social impact. The GCEOA believes that when people and organizations are well informed on the various aspects of sustainability and are technologically well equipped on accessing information, they can make smarter decisions and take better actions toward sustainable development.

I had the privilege of joining the XXI Annual Steering Committee Meeting of the CIFAL Global Network in Al Majmaah and Riyadh—a gathering that brought together incredible leaders from around the world to align our goals, share ideas, and strengthen our shared commitment to sustainable development. Reflecting on what we achieved in 2024 and planning a roadmap for 2025 was a powerful reminder of how much we can accomplish when we work together. The discussions were full of energy and purpose, and it was inspiring to collaborate with my fellow CIFAL Directors and UN colleagues as we explored ways to create an even greater impact. A huge thank you to CIFAL SAUDI ARABIA, led by Aiman Albarakati, Ph.D. for the exceptional and warm welcome to your beautiful country and impressive university, and to the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) team—Nikhil Seth, Luis Gallegos, Alex Mejia, Ebru Canan Sokullu, Julio Andrade Ruiz, Estrella Merlos, and Adriana L.—for their guidance and vision, which continue to push this network forward. A special thank you to Nikhil Seth for your steadfast leadership throughout the years. At CIFAL Lebanon, we’re excited to build on this momentum—scaling up our efforts to deliver more impactful training programs, webinars, and initiatives that make a real difference in our region and beyond. Together, as part of the CIFAL Global Network, we are not just talking about change—we’re making it happen! #CIFAL #UNITAR

🌱 As we mark one year since the establishment of CIFAL Lebanon, we reflect on the progress made in fostering knowledge exchange and advancing sustainable development. Next week, we join the CIFAL Global Network Annual Steering Committee Meeting as part of a network of 34 training centers coordinated by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), dedicated to strengthening capacities, facilitating City-to-City (C2C) partnerships, and addressing key development challenges. 📸 (November 2023): MOU signing between Global CEO Alliance and UNITAR during last year’s Steering Committee Meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, formalizing the establishment of CIFAL Lebanon.
