Embarking on a journey of discovery, Golf in Society partnered with Sport for Confidence CIC and the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre (AWRC) at Sheffield Hallam University to pioneer a groundbreaking research program. Fuelled by a collective vision to illuminate the transformative power of tailored golf sessions for older adults facing cognitive and physical challenges, our mission was to evaluate the efficacy of our interventions and uncover the profound impact they have on participants and caregivers alike. With the support of Innovate UK, as part of the government-funded UKRI Healthy Ageing Challenge initiative, we set out to revolutionise perceptions of golf and its potential as a vehicle for holistic health and well-being. After Storm Bert, it was lovely to see the sun shining over Rickmansworth #golfclub today. I had a great session with the Everyone Active - SLM team sharing my expertise to support them in the design and testing of their latest #golfandhealth programme, kindly funded by Parkinson's UK. Amy, Vic and Nick will be a brilliant delivery team. The club, especially with their great short course and planned investment in the infrastructure, will be a fantastic space and place for people diagnosed with #parkinsons to discover #golf. 🌟 Supporting Active Aging with Golf in Society and Brimhams Active 🌟 At Golf in Society, we're dedicated to helping older adults stay active, healthy, and connected. In our latest program, participants enjoy a full five hours of gentle exercise, social interaction, and, of course, golf! These sessions help foster mobility and well-being through fun, low-impact activities—all while providing caregivers a well-deserved five-hour break to recharge.
