GAD’s insights into the shape of the UK population and impact of demographic change were among topics discussed at the ‘Future of Ageing 2025: Planning for the long-term’ conference. The Government Actuary Fiona Dunsire participated in a panel on ‘Financial inclusion: Managing vulnerability across long lives.’ (pictured). The event was organised by the International Longevity Centre - UK (ILC-UK), as 2025 marks its 10th annual Future of Ageing conference, bringing together policymakers, business leaders and experts to discuss how the UK can create a vision for the 100-year life.

We have produced advice and recommendations on setting up a future climate scenario decision tool. GAD undertook research for ClimateXChange that will help provide a practical tool for public sector organisations across Scotland to carry out climate scenario analysis for adaptation planning. A GAD actuary has co-authored a new report on global climate risk management. ‘Planetary Solvency – finding our balance with nature’ brings together risk management techniques and the latest science and systemic risk assessment methodologies. The report is from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and the University of Exeter.
