Today, we’re proud to support National Energy Action (NEA) #FuelPovertyAwarenessDay, shining a light on a critical issue affecting millions across the UK. Energy bills remain impossibly high, and with less government support this winter, the most vulnerable are facing mounting challenges. 💚 At HACT, we’re committed to making a difference. Through the HACT Fuel Fund, in partnership with Family Fund Business Services (FFBS), we’re helping alleviate some of the pressure for social housing residents. 💚 There is still around £800,000 available to support residents in need today. We know the journey to alleviating fuel poverty is far from over, but every step counts. 👉 If you have residents in need of help this winter, please reach out to a member of our team at energyhardship@hact.org.uk 👉 Head over to National Energy Action (NEA) and Energy Saving Trust to learn more about the incredible work they’re doing to raise awareness and support those impacted. No one should be left out in the cold this winter 💙 #FuelPovertyAwarenessDay #SocialHousing #EnergyHardship

Today we're proud to launch a new groundbreaking report : 📰 “Community Benefits: A Framework to Capture the Impact of Community Spaces,” developed in collaboration with seven organisations from across the sector: Clarion Futures (Clarion Housing Group), SNG (Sovereign Network Group), Home Group, Yorkshire Housing, Orbit Group, Places for People and Bournville Village Trust. This pioneering research explores how community spaces serve as vital hubs for resident engagement, service delivery and social support—playing a critical role in fostering wellbeing, social cohesion, and economic resilience. Amid challenges like the cost-of-living crisis, the report introduces an innovative Impact Measurement Framework to guide housing associations in maximizing the value of these spaces and making strong cases for investment. Key Outcomes: ✅ Sector-Wide Insights: Comprehensive analysis of the volume, management, and diverse usage of community spaces, from traditional centers to innovative hubs like converted flats and gardens. ✅ Impact Measurement Framework: Practical tools, incorporating HACT’s Social Value Bank, to measure and articulate the transformative value of community spaces. ✅ Actionable Recommendations: Strategies to enhance impact, align with broader social value goals, and build compelling business cases for sustained investment. Lead by Dr Frances Harkin, Head of Services at HACT, she commented, “This framework addresses the pressing need to articulate the impact of community spaces clearly and consistently and aims to help housing associations and their partners demonstrate the immense social value these spaces bring to their communities.” Rebecca Rieley, Head of Communities and Projects at HACT, said: "Community spaces are the backbone of thriving communities. They provide places for connection, support, and opportunity, but they also play a crucial strategic role in achieving social value. This report empowers housing associations to showcase the immense value of these spaces and secure the investment needed to ensure their long-term impact.” Access the full report here: https://lnkd.in/ePx5UsAv Together, let’s champion the role of community spaces in building thriving, resilient communities! 🏘️✨ 📧 For more information, visit www.hact.org.uk or contact us at communities@hact.org.uk.
