What if we could deliver clean hydrogen to off-grid customers without having to move any hydrogen? That’s exactly the question we are trying to answer with SHV Energy’s sustainable energy group, Futuria Fuels. One LPG tanker can carry as much hydrogen as 10 tube trailers, safely and efficiently, to customers looking to decarbonize their off-grid operations. Together, we are looking at the opportunity to leverage the existing LPG distribution network and combine it with HiiROC’s proprietary #ThermalPlasmaElectrolysis process to produce clean hydrogen using a fifth of the electricity of water electrolysis and producing no carbon dioxide. We have already successfully tested LPG as a feedstock for TPE, and Futuria Fuels’ own Keith Simons shared highlights of our work together at #LPGWeek in Cape Town last Tuesday. We are excited to see where this takes us! Read more on our website: https://lnkd.in/d8Meznft #hydrogen #energytransition #collaboration #becauseitneedsdoing

Low-Cost, Zero Emission Hydrogen
About us
HiiROC is a technology company established in 2019 to develop and commercialise its plasma torch technology in the production of hydrogen from biomethane, flare gas and natural gas through Thermal Plasma Electrolysis. HiiROC's proprietary technology enables the low-cost, zero emission production of hydrogen at a comparable cost to steam methane reforming but without the emissions and using only one fifth of the energy required by water electrolysis. Plants can be small to industrial scale based on the modular design and can be located at the point of demand thereby avoiding transport costs and enabling the use of existing infrastructure. The solid carbon black by-product has applications ranging from tyres, building materials and as a soil enhancer. Its production using HiiROC’s technology avoids the emissions and pollution inherent in the predominant oil furnace manufacturing process.

Following on from last year's increased investment from Cemex Ventures, we are delighted to share the news of their initial deployment of our clean hydrogen technology at Cemex's cement plant in Rugby, UK! HiiROC is revolutionising hydrogen production with our low-cost, proprietary process, #ThermalPlasmaElectrolysis (TPE), which uses only one fifth of the electricity required by water electrolysis and produces no carbon dioxide – an industry game-changer. Our work with Cemex at Rugby is part of their Future in Action programme. Cemex will deploy TPE to produce hydrogen for its clinker kiln, reducing reliance on fossil fuels, a key step towards their goal of becoming a net-zero company by 2050. At the #Hydrogen4Life conference today. It has been really encouraging to hear first-hand how positive how DESNZ Minister Sarah Jones is about the need to develop the UK's hydrogen economy as quickly as possible. There is no #NetZero without #Hydrogen and it is great to know that this is fully recognised in Whitehall.

We are excited to announce a new partnership between HiiROC and Siemens to accelerate the production of clean hydrogen at scale. By combining HiiROC’s revolutionary Thermal Plasma Electrolysis (TPE) technology with Siemens' advanced control and automation expertise, this collaboration helps us on our journey to providing clean, affordable hydrogen, where you need it, when you need it. TPE leverages existing infrastructure - no waiting for renewables, pipelines or storage - and requires only a fifth of the electricity needed for water electrolysis. It's a game changer for decarbonisation across refining, chemicals, energy management, and transport. Delighted to introduce HiiROC's Thermal Plasma Electrolysis (#TPE) low-emissions hydrogen technology to the Energi Coast Innovation Group Showcase event this week. We heard more details of the rapidly emerging low-carbon energy eco-system in the North East, including hydrogen production. #TPE can be an important tool in the box, producing up to 5x more low carbon hydrogen for every kWh energy produced off the coast of the north east than water electrolysis. Thanks to Simon Hogg, Ian Ritchey and the whole team at NOF for organising a brilliant event. #CleanEnergy #Sustainability #Innovation #HiiROC #Hydrogen #SustainableEnergy #Decarbonization #EnergyTransition

Our sincere thanks to Sujeevan Satheesan and the UK Export Finance for inviting HiiROC to this auspicious occasion in the middle of Gastech 2024!
Lovely warm evening to connect with friends, colleagues, and key UK Export Finance counterparties at Sujeevan Satheesan's UK Clean Energy Reception during Gastech 2024 Week. The photo below encapsulates this well! Thomas Hobby is leading a fantastic waste forestry products to hydrogen for vehicles project in California, called Yosemite Clean Energy. Michael Stockton from TD Securities, who are a key bank partner for UK Export Finance, with a $4 billion portfolio of UKEF financing deals. Lee-Anne Cottle Barraclough leading the UK commercial services efforts at the Department for Business and Trade across a large North American team focused on Clean Energy. Amy Spall representing Drax Group US, with a UK parent company, as part of their significant US expansion plans for major biomass to energy projects. (As well as being a former colleague from the British Consulate-General, Houston.) With Christina Luhn, PhD, the UK government's Global Policy Advisor at our Houston post -- who beautifully makes the case of how the UK and the US are each other's greatest allies! Though not an exhaustive list, but I look forward to exploring how the UK BCG-Houston and UKEF can continue a dialogue to partner with and support Carbon Clean, KBR, Inc., Air Liquide, Howden, A Chart Industries Company, the DOE Loan Programs Office, ADNOC Group, Baker Hughes, Bechtel Corporation, HiiROC, RMI, Scottish Development International, Octopus Energy, Ørsted, Wood, Chevron, EDF Renewables North America, Halliburton, SLB, and ExxonMobil. Photo credit and huge thank you to my colleague Lisa Gossett, who hosts the best parties, and makes it all look seamless. #CleanGrowth
