Howbeck Healthcare was established in 2014 to support General Practices to work at scale in order to improve services and efficiency. Based in Cheshire, we work with, and provide services to, Practices, GP Federations and PCNs. Our founders and our team are committed to the NHS and have extensive NHS Primary Care experience – we have a track record of delivery and we are proud of the support we continue to deliver across our ten service lines.

  • 🎄✨ It’s farewell for now, Jingle the Elf! After a whirlwind month with us, Jingle has packed his sleigh and is in a rush back to the North Pole to prep for the biggest night of the year! Thanks for all your help, Jingle—you’ll always be part of the Howbeck family! As we wrap up 2024, we want to say a huge THANK YOU to all our incredible clients— both new and longstanding.   • 🎄Big news from the North Pole! Jingle the Elf has been promoted to manage the Elf-Service Website - a very important mission indeed! Luckily, Jingle’s been brushing up on Howbeck’s top website tips to make sure the elves can easily find everything they need. Here's what Jingle learned: ✨ Keep it short and sweet – Use short paragraphs (30-60 words) and break content up with clear headings. ✨ Quick links are key – Direct access to important pages like Appointments, Repeat Prescriptions, Sick Notes, Test Results, and New Patients is a must! ✨ Name it right – A page called "Register as a New Patient" performs better in searches than just "New Patients." ✨ Clear opening hours – Write days and months in full, and use “to” instead of dashes (e.g., 8:00am to 6:00pm) so screen readers can easily interpret them. ✨ Accessibility matters – Include details about accessible parking, ramps, lifts, bathrooms, and hearing loops on your contact page.   • ✨Jingle the Elf was struggling to get to grips with the North Pole’s new cloud-based telephony system! ✨ Thankfully, we were on hand to give him a few tips to ensure the elves were making the most of all its magical features! Here are three of the top tips we shared with Jingle to streamline the elves work to ensure holiday cheer! 🎄 ·       Tailor call routes to end at a point where the patient can opt to have information sent to them by SMS – this might be used to send a link out for Fit Notes for example. ·       Use the analytics from your system to understand peak call times, or the times when most calls are missed or abandoned - and adjust staff schedules accordingly or consider how to further automate certain messages to reduce the demand on your call handling team. ·       Create ‘VIP/Priority’ caller profiles that can be diverted automatically down a different pathway, for example for Palliative Care patients, or for calls from Care Homes.
