Amazing feedback from one of our delegates who attended The Second National Advancing Men’s Mental Health in the Workplace Conference 2024 last week ☺️ We're so glad you have left the day with some extremely important take aways! #igppMMH
Founder at ManConfidence.co.uk, UKs first Men's Focussed Mental Health Therapy. Digital Health and Health Innovation Advisor and Consultant | Urgent Care Specialist | Practising Doctor.
I think this point about men's mental health is HUGE... At the Institute of Government & Public Policy men's mental health in the workplace event last week, Mark Brooks OBE mentioned so many good points but this one really resonated. 👉🏻men WILL come forward for mental health support (i.e. it's much more likely) if the support is CONFIDENTIAL and CONSEQUENCE FREE. 🤔This made me reflect. 😔Men often carry burdens of sadness, shame or guilt for past mistakes or events which can eat at them. 🗻These can be small life errors in reality, but feel huge to them. They may even be huge mistakes, but there is no outlet for them to let go - process and move on. 👉🏻It's incredibly important for them to be able to offload that burden without feeling guilty for it more than they already do. ⚠️It's very much about de-risking the opening up for men in my opinion. 🛣️This is the essence of the journey I'm pushing with Man Confidence. A place men can be assured they can let it out and take control of their mental health on their terms, by providing them the tools to do so. It's not perfect yet by any stretch, but it's coming together and evolving and it's already positively impacting men.

I had a great time at the Institute of Government & Public Policy Healthcare Cyber Security Conference yesterday! Some very interesting talks from Michael Knight & Michelle Corrigan. Events like this are so important for industries like health and social care, where cybersecurity can often take a back seat. In these sectors, people are juggling multiple roles and knowing where to start with cyber can feel overwhelming. That’s why initiatives like Better Security, Better Care and discussions around national strategies are so important. They help organisations build a clearer roadmap for resilience and, most importantly, protect the sensitive data of their patients.
