  • What are the challenges of managing mega projects now and in the future? 🦺 Earlier this month, IPA CEO, Nick Smallwood, visited Hong Kong to attend the International Infrastructure and Projects Leaders Summit, and spoke to delegates about managing some of the UK’s biggest infrastructure projects. The landmark international event brought together more than 450 major infrastructure project leaders and experts, from over 20 countries and economies across the globe, to exchange insights and best practices in project delivery and governance. ✈️ The summit facilitated a deep dive into common global challenges faced by policy makers and construction leaders, such as productivity, sustainability and safety. Collaboration was at the forefront of the event, with opportunities to jointly formulate strategies and initiatives for enhancing the performance of complex infrastructure projects. Thank you to Project Strategy and Governance Office (PSGO) for a fantastic event. 🤝 #majorprojects #infrastructure #IIPLS #government

  • Hinkley Point C (HPC) is helping Britain achieve net zero. ♻️ HPC is one of the biggest environmental projects in Britain. It’s building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in Britain providing zero-carbon electricity for around six million homes. IPA spent the day exploring the HPC site to experience the project in action and understand how it is progressing. We learnt about the opportunities and challenges the project faces, and the innovative methods Hinkley uses to overcome the latter. 🦺 Sharing the learning from this project with other major projects will help us meet our shared ambition of building world-class infrastructure. 🤝 #projectdelivery #netzero #majorprojects #hinkleypointc

  • The #5CaseModel goes international! 🌍 IPA’s International Team was privileged to undertake a visit to Mauritius under the terms of our Memorandum of Understanding between the UK and Mauritius government signed in 2023. The visit focussed on delivery of our 5 Case Model (5CM) training to an audience of 250, from 24 ministries to private sector stakeholders. The 5CM is a business case development tool used widely across government, both in the UK and internationally, to provide a framework for thinking and developing the case for any project. 💭📝 We also had the opportunity to hold strategic meetings with officials from Mauritius’ Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, strengthening our partnership with the Government of Mauritius and the British High Commission in Port Louis. Thank you to our hosts, we look forward to exploring future opportunities for collaboration and supporting infrastructure in Mauritius! 🤝
