About us
Private Bespoke Counselling, Life Coaching and Support by Just Jack, a British Army Front Line War Veteran. It's fair to say I'm not your stereotypical counsellor due to my persona, as I'm straight talking and extremely passionate about helping people with whatever issue they may be facing. I've worked as a Counsellor and as a Support Worker for several charities/companies and have a proven track record, evidenced by the feedback I’ve received, I've had the honour to work with people of all backgrounds ranging from War Veterans of all ages to young people (13+) in the care system. Being a Front Line War Veteran and a Person Centred Counsellor has afforded me to be able to not just empathise but also fully relate with an array of issues including but not limited to • Trauma • Depression • Stress • Anxiety • Loss/Greif • Relationships • Domestic Abuse/Violence • Gas Lighting • Suicidal tendencies Although I fully appreciate I alone cannot fix the world or the mental health system, what I can do is my part in it all and use my personal experiences, qualifications and professional background to help improve and ultimately save lives. I accept private clients and also work with small businesses that offer counselling and support to their employees, which naturally benefits the company as their employees are more productive and spend less on the sick when not struggling with personal or mental issues. Providing a bespoke professional service to the customer/client, I’m more than comfortable to work with any issue, form any background, gender or age.

Sometimes, life feels like you’re trapped in a pit with no way out. The walls are steep, the darkness overwhelming, and it feels like no one could possibly understand. But that’s where I come in. I don’t just stand at the top shouting directions—I jump in with you. I sit with you in that space, helping you find your strength and guiding you out. Step by step, we’ll climb together, until you’re standing tall again, ready to continue your journey—with a new spring in your step. It’s not about me pulling you out—it’s about us finding the way out together. Because that’s what true support looks like. #MentalHealthSupport #CounsellingJourney #YouAreNotAlone #ClimbingTogether #OvercomingChallenges #InnerStrength

“If someone can take your partner, let them. No one should ever be ‘able’ to take what’s truly yours.” Loyalty isn’t something that can be stolen—it’s given freely, out of respect, love, and trust. If your partner’s commitment can waver, then they were never fully committed in the first place. Don’t waste your energy fighting for someone who isn’t loyal to you. True love and connection can’t be swayed by outside influence. It’s built on trust, shared values, and mutual respect. Stay strong. Respect yourself enough to know what you deserve. #JustJackCounselling #LoyaltyMatters #StrongRelationships #SelfWorth #RealTalk

The Power of Checking In with Yourself In the hustle and noise of daily life, it’s easy to lose track of how we’re really feeling. We’re quick to check in with friends, family, and colleagues, but how often do we stop to check in with ourselves? Taking a moment to ask, “How am I really doing?” isn’t just a nice idea—it’s essential for maintaining balance and resilience. Why Checking In Matters 🟢 Self-Awareness – Regular check-ins help you notice patterns and identify stressors early, allowing you to manage them before they grow overwhelming. 🟢 Better Boundaries – When you know how you’re feeling, you’re more equipped to set healthy boundaries that protect your energy and well-being. 🟢 Improved Mental Health – Taking stock of your emotions can prevent burnout and reduce stress, creating space for positivity and growth. 🟢 Builds Resilience – Checking in gives you the chance to address small challenges head-on, building the resilience needed to face bigger ones with confidence. Take a moment today to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself. It’s a simple habit that can make a powerful difference in your mental well-being. #SelfCheckIn #MentalHealthMatters #SelfAwareness #JustJackCounselling #ResilienceBuilding #BalanceAndBoundaries

World Kindness Day: Kindness in Unexpected Places Kindness isn’t always flashy, and it doesn’t come from who you’d expect. Sometimes, it’s the person you’d least expect to lend a hand who steps up and makes a difference. Today, on World Kindness Day, let’s remember that kindness doesn’t need to be grand or loud. It can be a simple gesture, even in the unlikeliest of places and times—like picking something up for a stranger on a dark street or taking a moment to check in with someone. Acts of kindness aren’t about appearances; they’re about impact. • Small gestures have a ripple effect, building trust and connection in places you wouldn’t think possible. • When we act with kindness, we show strength—our ability to be compassionate in any setting. If you’re looking for a way to make a difference, don’t wait for the perfect moment or setting. Just start small. Today, be that unexpected source of support for someone. #WorldKindnessDay #UnexpectedKindness #JustJackCounselling #ImpactThroughCompassion #MakeADifference #MentalHealthMatters #KindnessCounts

Understanding Trauma Bonds: Why It’s Hard to Let Go Trauma bonds are intense emotional attachments formed with people who repeatedly cause pain or distress. It’s a paradoxical connection that often leaves individuals feeling stuck—drawn to a person or relationship even when it’s harmful. Why does this happen? 🟢 Intermittent Reinforcement – When someone offers moments of care or kindness between hurtful behaviors, it creates a powerful cycle of hope and disappointment, making it difficult to break away. 🟢 Shared Trauma – Shared intense experiences can create strong bonds, even if those experiences are negative, leading individuals to feel a connection rooted in pain. 🟢 Identity and Self-Worth – Prolonged exposure to a toxic relationship can erode self-worth, leaving individuals believing they deserve the hurt, or that this relationship defines them. Breaking a trauma bond isn’t easy—it requires self-reflection, support, and often professional help. Recognizing the pattern is the first step, and with time, it’s possible to reclaim control and rediscover a life free from unhealthy attachments. You don’t have to navigate it alone. If you’re ready to start untangling these connections and rebuild on healthier ground, counselling can provide the support and guidance you need. #TraumaBonds #MentalHealthMatters #BreakTheCycle #JustJackCounselling #HealingJourney #SelfWorth #OvercomeAttachments

Honoring the Fallen, Remembering the Bonds As we approach Remembrance Day, I find myself reflecting on the years I served with the British Army—from 1994 to 2004. I was deployed to Bosnia under both United Nations and NATO, served three years in Northern Ireland, and stood with the Desert Rats as we liberated Basrah, Iraq, in 2003. Those memories, and the bonds forged through those experiences, are always close. Remembrance isn’t just a day on the calendar. It’s about honoring those who gave everything, reflecting on the shared strength, and remembering the sacrifices that built us. For me, it’s about carrying forward the lessons, the courage, and the resilience from those I served with. Today, let’s honor those who are no longer with us and keep their memory alive in our actions and our hearts. #RemembranceDay #LestWeForget #HonoringTheFallen #BritishArmy #JustJackCounselling #DesertRats #Bosnia #NorthernIreland #NeverForgotten

Lest We Forget: Honoring the Fallen, Remembering Those Still Fighting On Remembrance Day, we honor those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice in wars past and present. We remember the courage, resilience, and selflessness of those who stood in harm’s way for freedom. But remembrance isn’t only about looking back. It’s about acknowledging the battles that continue, even after the guns fall silent. Today, many veterans face new struggles, enduring the unseen scars of war—mental health battles that are often as intense and challenging as those on the front lines. Far too many have lost their lives not only to combat but to the struggles that followed their return. Today, let us remember: • Those we lost in battle • Those we’ve lost since, to the silent toll of mental health challenges and suicide • And those who continue to fight their own battles every day This Remembrance Day, let’s honor their memory by supporting those who are still with us, raising awareness of mental health, and doing our part to ensure no one has to face these battles alone. #RemembranceDay #LestWeForget #HonoringTheFallen #MentalHealthMatters #SupportOurVeterans #JustJackCounselling #NeverForgotten #ModernWars #MentalHealthSupport

The Power of Boundaries: Protecting Your Peace, Well-Being, and Productivity Boundaries often get misunderstood as barriers, but they’re actually bridges—bridges to better mental health, greater productivity, and a balanced life. Setting boundaries is one of the most impactful things you can do for your personal and professional growth. In a world where we’re often expected to be “on” around the clock, boundaries help us protect what truly matters and show up in the best way possible. Why boundaries matter: 🟢 Boost Productivity – When you set clear limits, you allow yourself to work with focus and purpose, rather than being pulled in every direction. Time dedicated to deep, uninterrupted work is where real productivity thrives, and it often results in better-quality outcomes. 🟢 Encourage Balance – Boundaries give you permission to prioritize self-care, family time, or simply moments to recharge. They’re essential for a sustainable work-life balance that doesn’t compromise one for the other. 🟢 Prevent Burnout – Without boundaries, burnout is inevitable. Healthy limits reduce stress, encourage mental resilience, and help you avoid the fatigue and exhaustion that come from over-commitment. 🟢 Foster Better Relationships – Communicating your boundaries fosters mutual respect and understanding in both personal and professional relationships. When people understand your limits, interactions become more meaningful and less strained. How to Start Setting Boundaries: 1. Identify Your Priorities – Reflect on what matters most to you and why. Boundaries are only as effective as the priorities they protect. 2. Communicate Clearly – Boundaries don’t work if they aren’t shared. Letting others know your limits encourages them to respect your time and energy. 3. Practice Saying “No” – Saying no is a strength, not a weakness. It’s a way of protecting your time for what truly needs your focus. 4. Honour Your Limits – Boundaries are for your benefit. If you let them slide, you risk undermining the very protection they offer. Setting boundaries is an act of empowerment, allowing you to be more present, effective, and fulfilled both in work and in life. They are essential tools for sustainable success, well-being, and true resilience. Let’s embrace the freedom and strength that comes with setting healthy boundaries. #WorkLifeBalance #SettingBoundaries #MentalHealthMatters #ProductivityAndWellbeing #JustJackCounselling #LinkedInCommunity #EmpowerYourself #ProtectYourPeace #PersonalGrowth #ProfessionalDevelopment
