  • It's time for Oliver Macks yearly roundup! It will be hard for anything to beat the highlight of bringing Norman more regularly into the office! With Laura taking the bold step into a new career at the civil service in August, we had to have Norman in the office more often. Although Laura is still supporting us, her move also meant we had space for a Finance Assistant, and Henry (Mack!) joined the team – a huge highlight 🎊. The variety of our work means we are constantly challenged, and personally, I learn so much as we go. Our longest-standing client, Good Growth , invited us back to spend time with their senior leadership team in Birmingham, and I loved how they are so open and friendly in a challenging and ambitious environment 💡. We’ve spent hours and days with Local Authorities - Westmorland and Furness Council, Durham County Council , South Tyneside Council and Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council and, more recently, were invited to support the NHS Leadership Academy 💙. We’ve covered topics as diverse as vision, leadership, delegation, change, team development, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, Social Care, Early Intervention, and had the chance to try our hand at small business support. This last one was a real challenge and so enjoyable – we hope to do more in the New Year! Across the course of the year, it isn’t the specific clients that are the highlights but the invitation to be part of their work for a brief time. Each challenging conversation, relationship-building session, systems mapping exercise, and action plan is a highlight for me 🌟. In the office, we didn’t just have the change of Norman becoming a team member, but we had to cope with Bianca leaving! She had a good excuse (baby😊), and welcoming Anna and Kaia (baby Bianca) to the team made it easier. Towards the end of the year, it was brilliant to join up with Alliance Manchester Business School again and support their leadership development work for WCC in Shanghai 🌏. Then, I returned to our second-longest partnership with CPI. They are such an incredible organisation, and I never cease to be amazed by the breadth and complexity of their innovation work. The most recent, of course, is the partnership they developed with the Darlington Economic Campus, where they asked us to design and deliver a strategic leadership programme. The final hoorah was with the Durham Digital Services team, who took the bold step of holding themselves accountable and asking us back to check their progress. It makes it all worthwhile to see people taking their transformation work so seriously 🙌. A big thanks to all our clients, and especially our coaching clients, who really put their trust in us for challenge and support.

  • Building Accountability Into Team Development Last week, we had the privilege of working once again with Durham County Council's Digital Services — thank you to Marion Ingleby for inviting us back a year later! 🙌 Just over a year ago the leadership team were determined to improve the culture across their department and we facilitated an initial two-day session for them to have some tough conversations about what wasn’t working. Through this, some relationship building, and prioritisation they set the foundations for change. Over the past year, they’ve worked hard to implement these, and this recent event was an opportunity to reset. With a year gone the day was to provide an accountability session for everyone involved and reset the team for the next stages of development, including an opportunity to: ✔️ Celebrate progress ✔️ Identify and overcome blocks ✔️ Align on priorities for the next stage Our days are never dull and this was filled with challenging activities, including: 🤝 Building stronger connections to create a ‘One Team’ culture 📚 Deep dives into Lencioni’s Five Dysfunctions of a Team 🌐 Systems thinking and mapping exercises to develop fresh insights We’re inspired by this team’s commitment to transformation and excited to support them through the next few months of coaching to embed these changes further. Thank you again to Marion, and the entire team for your trust and dedication to building a brighter, more connected future! #ChangeAndTransformation #TeamBuilding #LeadershipDevelopment #Collaboration #DurhamCouncil #Telecoms #TeamCulture #TransformativeLeadership

  • 🌟 Grateful for an incredible opportunity! 🌟 A huge thank you to Alliance Manchester Business School for inviting us to design and deliver the final stage of the Executive Leadership Acceleration Programme with Wellington College China, in Shanghai! We didn’t expect it to be such a challenging and inspiring journey, aside from the distance and logistics involved of course. Wellington College China is on a remarkable transformation journey, preparing for continued growth and success, and they have made a significant investment in developing both their current and future leaders to drive their vision forward. The entire leadership team couldn’t have been more welcoming and open to learning. They embraced the academic content of the sessions and worked really hard to apply the learning to the development of the group and their individual schools. Our sessions focused on building and leading a global talent management approach, fostering innovation, and empowering leadership to ensure that great leaders not only emerge but choose to stay and grow. Here’s to a future of impactful leadership and continued success! 🚀 #LeadershipDevelopment #TalentManagement #GlobalLeadership #ChangeAndTransformation #WellingtonCollegeChina

  • It's time to kick off our yearly round up! 🤩 Throughout December we'll be sharing the teams favourite things of 2024. Starting with Bianca… "My work-related favourites of the year have been dipping more into the social media side of things! I’m by no means an expert but it was fun to come up with post ideas, create simplistic graphics and read through articles that are linked to the work we do. We’re lucky to be located close to the river so it’s been nice to get out in the fresh air and take a walk around the Riverside throughout the seasons and last but not least, I’ve loved building relationships with clients I deal with on a regular basis. Special shout out to the PAs at Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, particularly Lyndsey Haughey & Adele Blakey! They’re great ladies to work with. My non work-related favourite is that I spent most of the year growing a baby! So, by the time you read this, the baby will be here, and I’ll be on maternity leave! Hopefully that’s going well (or as well as it can for first time parents!) 🍼 Thanks to the team at C&T for supporting me throughout the year, while I was navigating life as a pregnant woman in the workplace." Congratulations Bianca Davis on becoming a mother to a beautiful daugter - we cannot wait to meet her. 🩷

  • 🌟 Inspiring Leadership Programme – Days 4 & 5 🌟 This week, we held the final part of the Inspiring Leadership Programme with CPI and Darlington Economic Campus, led by Oliver Mack and Craig Hamer from Change & Transformation. Day 4 covered a range of impactful leadership tools and frameworks, including: ✅ Strategic leadership challenges ✅ The 4DX framework (Four Disciplines of Execution) ✅ OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) to focus and align goals We also had the privilege of hearing from Dr. Graeme Cruickshank, Chief Technology & Innovation Officer at CPI. On Day 5, we were joined by Beth Russell, Second Permanent Secretary and Head of Darlington Economic Campus at HM Treasury. The day concluded with a session on communicating with impact, focusing on the importance of storytelling in leadership and how to craft and share a narrative that truly resonates. A huge thank you to everyone involved for making it such an enriching experience! #InspiringLeadership #LeadershipJourney #ChangeAndTransformation #StrategicLeadership #Innovation #Storytelling

  • 🐾 Meet Norman, our office mascot, who comes into work a few days a week to bring some tail-wagging energy to the team! Recently, we took Norman on a lovely walk around the Tees Barrage🌳 Here are a few things we learned from our walk that we can apply to the world of transformation: 🚶♂️ Step by Step Progress: Just like taking small steps on a walk, change in an organisation happens gradually. Patience and persistence are key to making meaningful progress. 🌟 New Perspectives: Walking in a different environment allows you to see things from a fresh angle. Embracing change helps us approach challenges with new perspectives and innovative solutions. 💬 Teamwork: Walking with Norman reminds us that transformation isn’t a solo effort – it’s about collaboration, sharing ideas, and supporting each other along the way. At Change & Transformation, we understand that transformation requires constant movement, fresh thinking, and working together as a team. Just like Norman’s walk, every step we take in improving our company brings us closer to our goals. 🐾 #ChangeAndTransformation #EmbraceTheJourney #Leadership #OrganisationalChange #Teamwork #NormansWalk
