Over the summer, we’ve been working on an exciting project with the BCLF - Belgian Cycle Logistics Federation, and urban logistics specialists across Belgian cities 🇧🇪 We'll soon reveal results from our first-of-its-kind study, directly comparing van and cargo bike deliveries from a fleet that has successfully integrated cargo bikes into their traditional van operations. Unlocking smarter urban delivery starts with understanding how different vehicles perform across our cityscapes 🚚 🚲 📦 Until then, here's a sneak peek at the fascinating cargo bike traces we've captured 🎨 Follow Kale AI for the full study results coming soon 🔔

Cool news 🥬 Our cargo-bike research (in collaboration with urbike and Larry vs Harry) is featured in the latest OECD ITF - International Transport Forum report on urban delivery! The findings are clear: Cargo bikes and light electric vehicles (LEVs), combined with micro-hubs and parcel lockers, can reshape urban logistics and cities. In our Brussels 🇧🇪🇪🇺 study we showed that cargo bikes are: • Twice as fast in dense urban areas • Consistently park within 30m of delivery points (vs. vans spending 50%+ time on foot) • 10x more energy efficient At Kale, we're building the software to empower fast and sustainable urban logistics, starting by empowering the use of LEVs in delivery fleets. It's good to see more research championing this transition too 🎉 🗞️ Zag article: https://lnkd.in/efkJbK7p 📉 Report: https://lnkd.in/ejYGcbzX 📈 Our original report: https://lnkd.in/e9gwe5fk 📺 YouTube: https://lnkd.in/dcPvJJyW

We’re excited to announce our first institutional funding - supported by SFC Capital and Innovate UK Bridge AI. We’re grateful for their support and belief in our project, and everyone who's helped up along the way 🥬 🥬 This funding will help us launch our software, designed to empower sustainable urban logistics operators. ⚡ Our mission Transport is on track to make up nearly half of Europe’s emissions in 2030, and has been 3x slower than the rest of the economy to decarbonise. While most of these emissions come from cars, the number of delivery vehicles is projected to continue increasing. We believe rethinking urban logistics is a key vector towards sustainable and humane cities. To do this, we’re building the intelligence layer to empower cargo-bike logistics operators and help scale the industry. 🚲 What’s next We're excited to grow our team and are looking for talented individuals with expertise in UI/UX design and software engineering who want to have an impact.
