It was really encouraging to meet with 50 MPs yesterday at the Plan for the 136k Collective’s parliamentary drop-in! Together, we’re calling for a #YouthHomelessChapter in the government’s new cross-departmental strategy to end homelessness – and to make this happen, we need MPs to commit to effective, cross-cutting interventions for the most vulnerable young people. Our four main priorities for the government to focus on are: 🟠 Funding and guidance for local councils  🟠 Increased affordable housing  🟠 Financial support – including ending age-related discrimination with pay and benefits  🟠 Preventing homelessness through school and community support and early identification programmes Lee Pitcher MP Kirith Entwistle Florence Eshalomi Rachel Blake Danny Beales Emily Darlington MP New Horizon Youth Centre YMCA England & Wales

Today is #WhiteRibbonDay, a day dedicated to ending violence against women and girls. White Ribbon Day and the '16 Days of Action', which run after it, are an opportunity to come together and stand against domestic abuse by raising awareness and being part of the solution. #Itstartswithmen is the leading message for this year's White Ribbon campaign, recognising that Whilst not all men commit violence against women, all men do have a role in helping to end it. The campaign pledge and information have been added to Progress Housing Group’s work vans to help spread the message and the support available. With our charity partner, Key Unlocking Futures we own and manage South Ribble and Chorley women's refuges. Key also runs programmes to support domestic abuse victims, healthy relationship sessions in schools and a 24-hour helpline. If you can, wear a white ribbon and show your support. Together we can make our communities safer for everyone.
