Fair winds and following seas, Faith Oluwaremi! Faith has been on secondee from Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) for the last six months to the London Tech Bridge. Faith has been instrumental in moving all of our events and projects forward. She has been incredible support in our Tea and Tech events, Farnborough Air Show, and delivering untethered VR ship's bridge simulation to sailors. Most recently, Faith has been working to liaison with the Royal Navy AI Centre. Our last targeted industry event, Tea and Tech, in the books which was focused on how we can automate inspection and cleaning/preventing bio-fouling from our hulls. Also in big news, we have moved on to our second flag as the first is full! Congrats to Mark Lockhart from Jotun being the first lucky industry representative to sign the new flag! We had a great day with US Navy and Royal Navy key stakeholders in person and online to view the companies that participated. If you are at I/ITSEC 2024, be sure to stop by Stand 149 to see the collaboration funded by Office of Naval Research Global (ONR Global) Tech Solutions in collaboration with NIWC PAC and Kilo. You will see firsthand their naval variant of their COTS Vasco product called VIBRaNT. As a former CVN Navigator, our own Marc Christino immediately saw the value and flexibility of having this type of technology onboard a naval ship. It would serve as a great compliment to comprehensive shore based training systems. The US DOD released an RFI seeking assured positioning, navigation, and timing (APNT) technologies for an upcoming Capability Discovery event in March 2025 near Virginia Beach, VA. It was great to have back Assistant Secretary of Defense for Critical Technologies, Maynard Holliday, last month to the London Tech Bridge! We learned how the Critical Technologies office has evolved and we informed them of the technologies we are scouting in the appropriate technology areas. We discussed how their Principal Directors are releasing 11 technology roadmaps to help guide DOD investments to support long term gains.
