Lucy Taylor (left) and Isobel Lamb (right) joined the Lovell Renew team each undertaking an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor degree, as part of the 'Grow our own' model, to bolster the commercial team. Working to a development plan, both are progressing through their BSc Hons in Professional Practise in Quantity Surveying, alongside their day to day roles. Here's what they have to say about their Lovell journey so far... Lucy: "Working whilst studying has been a valuable experience, offering me a deeper understanding of the industry and allowing me to connect the theory to the practical tasks I encounter daily. Every day is a new challenge, and I’m constantly growing both personally and professionally. I can’t wait to become fully qualified and continue progressing in my career with Lovell Partnerships." Isobel: "The team were so welcoming when I first joined, and are still amazing to work with. I’m excited to be taking on another opportunity to strengthen our partnerships in the region as I have been selected as part of the new West Midlands Mayoral Taskforce West Midlands Combined Authority. Running until 2028, I will be working with a team of specialists across the region to advise Mayor of the West Midlands Richard Parker on one of his key priorities - to build social and affordable homes and create vibrant communities so that everyone has a place to call home. Our first Homes Taskforce meeting took place last week and it was an insightful and productive session. I’m looking forward to working with the team to understand how Lovell Partnerships Ltd can contribute to the mayoral priorities, as well as share my experience in regeneration, new build housing and social housing refurbishment. #Lovell #WestMidlands #WMCA #SocialHousing #Community

We recently visited schools in Cardiff to teach children about the importance of staying safe near our construction sites. We delivered engaging presentations to 268 pupils in total, from Millbank Primary School in Ely and Meadowlane Primary School in St Mellons. During the sessions, the children learnt how to identify potential safety hazards on active sites and had the opportunity to try on hi-vis vests and hard hats. Catherine Cooper at Millbank Primary School said: “Lovell in the community has delivered fantastic learning opportunities to our pupils. The children had huge fun finding out about construction and industry. This has supported our vision here at Millbank to nurture aspirational young people who are confident, capable and successful.” The children from one of the year six classes at Meadowlane Primary School said: “We enjoyed learning about all the safety gear that is worn on site and the reasons why they are worn. We learned about many different roles that make up Lovell - both office based and site based. We learned the names of many of the vehicles and machines on site. Our regional managing director Stuart Penn has been selected as part of the new West Midlands Mayoral Taskforce West Midlands Combined Authority. Running until 2028, Stuart will be working with a team of specialists across the region to advise the Mayor of the West Midlands, Richard Parker, on one of his key priorities – improving living standards through refurbishment and new build, creating vibrant communities so that everyone has a place to call home. The selection is a recognition for the work Stuart has done in housing in the West Midlands, working in partnership across all sectors. Introducing Ben Fraser, one of our Apprentice Joiners, to mark day four of National Apprenticeship Week! Since starting with us in October of 2023, Ben has followed in the footsteps of his dad into a fantastic career in the housing industry. “My Dad’s been in the housing industry for years and always spoke about it with such enthusiasm. Seeing the passion and results of his work definitely influenced me to explore housing as an option.” Now working at our Bridgewater Village site, Ben has gained great perspective through his apprenticeship and he’s excited about his future prospects. “Working at Lovell has been a really positive experience so far. It’s hard work but I appreciate the team environment – we have a good laugh together and we always try to tackle problems as a team.” “I’m really excited about completing my apprenticeship and working my way up the ladder, hopefully towards a role like construction manager.” #NAW2025
