South Queensferry High Street got some extra care and attention recently thanks to our green-fingered volunteers. We spent the day removing weeds and overgrown plants and cultivating the area's natural green spaces. We were delighted to be joined by Niamh Waldron, ESG Director at Sigma Capital and Neil McKinlay, Environment Sub-Convenor of Queensferry & District Community Council on the day. Neil McKinlay, added: "The contribution by the Lovell team is greatly appreciated and demonstrates the power of community collaboration in enhancing our shared spaces." Tony Rankin, regional managing director at Lovell in Scotland, said: "Days like this offer a great opportunity for our team to engage with the local area and make a tangible difference on the ground." Nearby, Lovell is building The Crossings at Bridgewater Village - a mixed-use development which includes 100 new homes for social rent in partnership with Sanctuary, 185 build-to-rent homes for Simple Life (part of the Sigma Capital Group Limited) and 113 homes for sale on the open market. Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming 13 joinery students from Hugh Baird College to our development site in Liverpool. For many of these students, it was their first time on a live construction site, and the experience was truly impactful! During their visit, they explored both first fix and second fix stages of joinery, gaining invaluable insights into the workings of an active site. Our site manager, Ged Anderson, and assistant site manager, Jimmy Hayes, were on hand to answer questions and share their expertise. The feedback from the students was overwhelmingly positive: -Tom expressed, "I feel very inspired to get my CSCS card so I can work on site and gain my experience here." - Ryan shared, "It was eye-opening to see joinery in practice on such a large scale, as opposed to our workspaces and seeing it in class." - Alfie noted, "After seeing the sites and speaking with Jimmy, it has cemented my desire to work on site and within construction." - Joe added, "It was great to see both 1st and 2nd fixings of joinery in a house on a construction site, and to hear about the different career paths joinery could take me down." We are thrilled to have inspired the next generation of joiners and look forward to seeing where their journeys take them! #LovellPartnerships #Joinery #Construction #FutureBuilders #HughBairdCollege #Inspiration

Solar success ☀️ Our team in the West Midlands is proud to announce the recent installation of photovoltaic (PV) solar panels at the Quinton office. The 94kWp solar array, covering two-thirds of the roof, has already generated an impressive 23-megawatt hours of electricity in just two months, saving more than 5 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent. This clean energy has provided the necessary electric capacity to support more electric vehicle (EV) charging points at the office for use by staff and visitors alike – 16 in total - encouraging the use of alternative green transport. And that’s not all. We’re thrilled to announce that our Tamworth office has produced over 48 MW of electricity from the solar panels on the roof installed in October 2023, resulting in an impressive saving of 11 tCO2e. Matthew Rothwell, sustainability coordinator, said: “The amount of carbon we’ve saved so far is a testament to our commitment to the environment, sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint. By converting sunlight into electricity, we are not only reducing greenhouse gas emissions but also promoting a more sustainable energy future.” Investing in measures such as this reflects our commitment to reducing carbon emissions and achieving Net Zero by 2030, as well as supporting the wider sustainability strategy as part of the Morgan Sindall Group plc. #ResponsibleBusiness #Sustainability #CarbonNetZero #WestMidlands #Construction

We recently hosted members of the Llywodraeth Cymru / Welsh Government, including Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government Jayne Bryant MS, and Pembrokeshire County Council at our brand-new development in Haverfordwest, with our partner Pobl Group. The development, called Augustus Grange, is providing a total of 115 mixed tenure homes. On the day, visitors received a tour of the site, the newly launched sales office and Lambourne style showhome. James Duffett, regional managing director, said: “We are incredibly proud of our Augustus Grange development, so it was a pleasure to host the Welsh Government and Pembrokeshire County Council and demonstrate the achievements of our team. “Augustus Grange is our first scheme in this region of West Wales and forms an integral part of our growth plans. It combines the very best of our partnerships and sales expertise, and we are confident that this development will provide people with homes and a community they can be proud of.” To read the full story, visit https://ow.ly/W4c650U9hVj. #lovell #lovellpartnerships #lovellhomes

We are extremely proud that a new care home we constructed for Monmouthshire County Council has been shortlisted for a Chartered Institute of Housing Welsh Housing Award. The care home, called Severn View Park, supports those living with dementia by providing both long-term care and short-term rehabilitation, and is all at ground level to ensure residents can easily access the home’s outdoor spaces. The project has been announced as a finalist in the ‘Excellence in Health and Wellbeing’ category, and we are now looking forward to the award ceremony on 12th December. James Duffett, regional managing director, said: “We deeply care about our work and the people that come to call our projects home. The Severn View Park scheme is one we felt particularly passionate about, and I’m very proud of our site team for building this care home to the highest standards, making it the best it can be. “Severn View Park delivers unrivalled care to people with dementia and their families. We are proud to have been involved and to see the care home be recognised by such an important industry body.” #lovell #lovellpartnerships #welshhousingawards
