Top Ranking! - The UWI has secured a place among the top 2,092 higher education institutions globally in the latest edition of the World University Rankings published by Time Higher Education. This is the 6th consecutive year that The UWI has been included in these rankings. The World University Rankings evaluates universities based on five key performance indicators: teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook. Appearing in these rankings is a significant achievement, as they feature only a small fraction of the estimated 32,000 universities worldwide. Since first participating in 2018, The UWI has consistently maintained a position in the top 5% of universities globally. "The UWI's consistent presence in these rankings reflects our long-standing commitment to academic excellence and leadership," commented Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Hilary Beckles. The University's strong performance on the "Teaching" and "International Outlook" indicators was highlighted by Pro Vice-Chancellor for Academic-Industry Partnerships, Professor Justin Robinson. "We celebrate the improvements in our score on the 'Teaching' performance indicator and our strong score on the 'International Outlook' performance indicator," he said. While The UWI has faced challenges adapting to changes in the ranking methodology, the institution remains dedicated to enhancing its quality standards and processes to meet evolving criteria. "As the higher education landscape rapidly changes, driven by increased competition and reduced funding, universities must innovate to succeed," noted Vice-Chancellor Beckles
