Last week, we were thrilled to welcome Jason Robinson, Professor of Materials Science & Metallurgy, St John's College, Cambridge to The National Mathematics and Science College 🚀 Prof. Robinson gave a fascinating talk on the Cambridge education model and admissions process. Debunking myths about interviews, explaining the selection process, sharing advice on making standout applications, avoiding common pitfalls and highlighting the importance of demonstrating your curiosity and passion, he truly inspired us all! Chinemerem “The talk gave me a better understanding of Cambridge. I loved the emphasis on curiosity and learning about summer programs to support my aspirations.” A huge thank you to Prof. Robinson for sharing his expertise and answering all our students questions —it felt like having a rock star on campus! 🎸 And many thanks to Benjamin Ng at UniHive Education for sharing opportunities for their summer programs taught by Professors at Cambridge! 👏 #cambridge #STEM

We're super proud to share an update from Chinemerem, winner of the Goodnotes STEM Scholarship! 📱 💡 "Going to #NatMatSci has been such an exciting experience! There is a keen sense of community and passion for #STEM, which I deeply appreciate. Over the past few weeks alone, we have had several speakers come to the college, to deliver lectures on a wide range of subjects – from the structure of 4D shapes to the possibilities of mind uploading. Moreover, lessons never fail to feel engaging. I am having a wonderful time, and I am thankful that Goodnotes has helped grant me this experience." Here’s Chinemerem at one of her favourite spots, the The National Mathematics and Science College boards! Alongside her love of indie rock, she’s also found time to learn guitar, bake brownies, and volunteer for the Good Future Foundation STEAM’24, helping to engage young learners through gamification. 🎮 Huge thanks to Goodnotes Daniel Emmerson for supporting young women in STEM! Congratulations once again, Chinemerem - you rock!!! 🤩 🎸 #WomenInSTEM #goodnotes

We’re incredibly proud to announce that Justin, has published a paper developed on our award winning STEM Communication Programme in the International Journal of Social Sciences and Economic Review ! 📊 Justin’s research delves into the Cap and Trade system—a financial-like market aimed at reducing carbon emissions. In his paper, Justin not only identified potential improvements but also proposed an innovative dual market system to boost private sector involvement in carbon reduction, injecting more financial incentives to drive greater environmental impact. 🌎 Check out Justin's full paper ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eqMa6Zjx Congratulations Justin!

Superb start to the week with 10,000 students and 1,500 educators at STEAM’24 Graeme Lawrie MBE FRSA FCCT and Jen Baguley did an incredible job in bringing together young learners from all over the country to engage them with all things Science, Technology, Engeneering, Art and Maths. And it all happened at Thorpe Park! Esther Cheng and I ensured that Good Future Foundation were there to support in offering an AI focussed activity for all who were interested. Our extraordinary volunteers from University of Cambridge and The National Mathematics and Science College talked participants through prompt engineering, ethics and biases when using AI tools before using them to create unique super heroes stickers! The aim of STEAM’24 is to engage young learners through gamification. They took part in activities and workshops to earn stamps that they then used to go on rides. The concept, in spite of its impressive scale, worked like a charm. Huge thanks to all of our volunteers, ACS International Schools, to Joel Carr for being there to capture the day and to all of the young learners and their teachers who took part in our initiative. Good Future Foundation offers free professional development, training and workshops relating to AI in education.
