EUROCONTROL Stakeholder Forum on unlocking runway capacity
We are the UK's leading provider of air traffic control services. In a typical year pre-Covid, we handle over 2.5 million flights and 250 million passengers travelling over the UK and across the North Atlantic. If you’ve been a passenger on a commercial aircraft flying in UK airspace then it's highly likely that we’ve handled your flight. Outside of the UK we offer leading air traffic products and services to customers including airports, airlines, air traffic service providers and governments. We currently provide these across parts of Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia.

🇵🇱 Lotnisko London Heathrow zmniejsza poziom emisji, jednocześnie zwiększając swoją przepustowość! 💡Jak to możliwe? Pairwise Separation — to nowy sposób separacji przylatujących samolotów wprowadzony przez brytyjską służbę kontroli ruchu lotniczego NATS. ✈️ „Pierwsze wrażenia kontrolerów są bardzo pozytywne. Są naprawdę podekscytowani zwiększoną liczbą lądowań, jaką obserwują na lotnisku Heathrow; to pokazuje wyraźnie, że Pairwise spełnia swoje zadania” — mówi John Eden, ekspert techniczny ds. synchronizacji ruchu. ✅ Dzięki zwiększonej liczbie lądowań Pairwise zmniejsza czas oczekiwania samolotów w powietrzu i na przestrzeni czasu odegra znaczącą rolę w zmniejszeniu emisji dwutlenku węgla. 🌟 Jeśli chcesz dowiedzieć się więcej o Pairwise Separation i innych innowacyjnych brytyjskich rozwiązaniach lotniskowych, skontaktuj się z Sylwia Piwowar. 🇬🇧 London Heathrow Airport is decreasing emissions while increasing aircraft flow at the same time! 💡 How are they doing it? Pairwise Separation - a new way of separating arriving aircraft introduced by the air traffic service, NATS. ✈️ ‘The initial feedback from controllers has been overwhelmingly positive. They’re really excited about the increased landing rates they’re seeing at Heathrow, a clear sign that Pairwise is delivering on its promise.’ says John Eden, Service Technical Expert for Traffic Synchronisation. ✅ Early results suggest that through increasing landing rates, pairwise will reduce airborne holding and contribute to significant carbon savings. Scotland today – the UK tomorrow. As a consortium, we have delivered the UK's only fully integrated medical drone delivery network. While today marked the official close of Project CAELUS, it also marks a new start line. It is viable, now we want to scale it. We have the technology and the processes, we now need to accelerate policy and regulation to match the agility we see in the industry today to achieve commercialisation at scale.
The recent deployment of Pairwise Separation at Heathrow Airport marks a significant milestone in air traffic management. 🛬 Find out more about this ground breaking way of separating arriving aircraft from one of the engineers on the project team: https://bit.ly/40SD3o1
