The healthcare sector is constantly evolving, and digital transformation has become a key area of focus in recent years. Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) recognised the importance of embracing this change and approached NHS Midlands and Lancashire to prepare a comprehensive 3-year Digital Transformation Investment Plan (DTIP). We worked closely with key stakeholders, including digital and program leadership, clinicians, and representatives from the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) teams, to identify potential initiatives, priorities, and funding sources. We also considered other contextual documents, such as ICB operational plans, ICP digital and clinical plans, social care plans, sustainability, NetZero, and green targets. The result was a comprehensive portfolio of projects and programs with a high-level timeline, along with a detailed written DTIP document and an overview presentation pack for stakeholder playback and approvals. The DTIP was designed as a living document that set the foundation for investment, implementation, portfolio management, assurance, and benefits realisation. This piece of work showcases the successful delivery of a roadmap that drives digital transformation, improves operational efficiency, and delivers exceptional value to Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB).
