At 11am today, all our branches and call centre teams will be joining the country in observing a two-minute silence to remember the service and sacrifices of our Armed Forces, both past and present. Lest we forget.
About us
Your financial needs and personal circumstances are ever-evolving. Your money goals are one of a kind. You're saving for different things and earning money in different ways. Work might not be 9–5 anymore. You may be a millennial dreaming of your first home. A foreign national facing restricted access to credit or unfamiliar rules. Or a silver fox planning to retire in style. No matter your situation or credit score, you’ll find mortgages and savings that fit. Unlike banks, a mutual building society means shareholders don't cash in. No bumping up strangers' bank balances. No hidden agendas. Just a focus on giving you a fair shot at stability and success.

Today, we announce the upcoming retirement of our Sales Director, Alison Pallett, who will be stepping down in March 2025 after an incredible 42-year career in financial services. Alison joined us in 2022 and has since been a transformative leader, helping to expand Nottingham Building Society’s reach in the mortgage and first-time buyer markets while guiding our intermediary sales team and launching key initiatives like our foreign nationals mortgage offering. Her contributions have left a lasting impact on our organisation, and we are grateful for her dedication and leadership. Matt Kingston, our current Head of National Sales, will step into the role of Sales Director, continuing Alison’s legacy of supporting brokers and expanding our mission to make homeownership accessible for more people. Reflecting on her time with us, Alison shared: “Working with Nottingham Building Society has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. It’s been incredible to see the business make real strides in the mortgage market and broaden our reach to support first-time buyers, particularly with the launch of our foreign nationals mortgage offering earlier this year. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved, and I know Matt’s leadership will only drive us further forward. His passion for our mission and commitment to our brokers and customers make him the perfect fit.” Thank you, Alison, for your contributions and mentorship. Here's to the future with Matt as we continue expanding pathways to homeownership.👏 #NottinghamBuildingSociety #Leadership #ADifferentKindofSociety

On Tuesday our Women’s Network hosted an incredible networking evening in the heart of Nottingham! It was a fantastic opportunity to highlight our new colleague mentoring programme, and for people across the Society to connect outside of the work environment and build valuable relationships with other colleagues. We were joined by our CEO Sue Hayes and we were delighted to hear from some of our amazing team: 🎤 Harriet Guevara, Chief of Staff 🎤 Kim Smart MSc, Head of Compliance 🎤 Lisa Winnard, Chief People Officer Kim shared her passion for mentoring, saying: "Mentoring doesn’t just impact the individuals involved; it has a ripple effect. When you mentor someone, you’re not just helping one person—you’re contributing to a culture of support and growth that can spread throughout our community." At Nottingham Building Society, we believe that stronger colleague connections foster a stronger organisation, and last night was a great opportunity for us to bring that to life. Huge thanks to all who joined and made the event such a success! #Networking #WomenInBusiness #StrongerTogether #CareerGrowth #NottinghamBuildingSociety #ADifferentKindofSociety

We're proud to see our latest research making headlines across the UK this week! It reveals that one in four people feel they have had to sacrifice their dream career because they don't believe they'll be accepted for a mortgage without a traditional 9-5 job. At Nottingham Building Society, we know the world of work is evolving, and we're committed to building a different kind of society—one where shift workers, sole traders, and foreign nationals don't have to choose between the career they love and owning a home. Read more about our findings via the link in the comments. #ADifferentKindOfSociety #FinancialDiversity

Nottingham Building Society reposted this
Who is up for being the voice of the customer? Have you ever had an experience so bad that you wonder how that company keeps going?! I’m becoming embarrassingly obsessed about giving in the moment feedback when I receive good or bad service 🤦🏼♀️ That’s one of the reasons I do the job I do because I want to ensure our organisation delivers legendary customer experience - without exception. If you feel the same, come and join our team at Nottingham Building Society who are committed to building a customer centric culture. I’m looking for someone to find new and creative ways to carry out customer research against our strategic priorities, analyse the results and influence change. Feel free to message with any questions! Check out this job at Nottingham Building Society: Senior Customer Researcher
