Oxfordshire Careers Hub
Education Administration Programs
Working with schools, colleges and employers to support young people in Oxfordshire to find their best next step.
About us
The Oxfordshire Careers Hub is a part of a national scheme that links volunteers from the local business community with schools and colleges to help bridge the gap between education and employment. The aim is to help young people make more informed choices about their future careers and ensure that employers are getting the skills they need from the workforce of tomorrow. This is achieved through our Enterprise Advisers supporting the schools at a strategic level to ensure that young people have meaningful, quality engagements with the world of work. The Local Enterprise Partnership is co-funding the project in Oxfordshire with the national Careers & Enterprise Company, an employer-led organisation set up to inspire and prepare young people for the world of work.

The brilliant Jack from Bardwell School went to BBC Radio Oxford with Hayley Laughlin last week. He had an interview with Adam Ball which made me laugh and cry! You will know if you have ever met Jack as he has such an infectiously positive personality and is bubbling with charisma. I was overjoyed to hear his voice on the radio and unsurprisingly he has made quite an impact with his appearance. Hopefully this is just the first of many radio appearances! #inclusivebusinesses #inclusionmatters Oxfordshire Careers Hub
On Friday 22nd November Jack thought he was going to a careers event in Oxford with his teacher Hayley. Little did he know BBC Radio Oxford helped us make his dream come true .. Jack’s reaction cements why community links are so important to us and the young people we support. We cannot thank BBC Radio Oxford enough for making Jack’s dream come true. With 19,000 views already, I have no doubt we’ll be hearing Jack live on the radio in the future! Please listen to Jack’s full interview here: https://lnkd.in/egSV2UZQ, you won’t want to miss it! #livingourvalues #thegallerytrust #bardwellschool

🕵 Carterton Community College are looking for employers to give their Year 7 students the opportunity to play 'Careers Detective'! This is an engaging and fun way for students to discover jobs and career pathways they didn't know existed. 🔎 The students will ask questions to find out what each visitor does and at the end of the 10 minutes, see if they can guess correctly. Students will need to be clever with their questions and think how to get the most useful information to make a good guess and can only ask closed questions with yes or no as the only answer options. The winning tutor group will get a prize at the end! Every 10 minutes, they will get to question another employer and find out about various jobs, aiming to build up a picture of as many different jobs as possible and add to their database of what is out there and what they are interested in. To take part in this fun and inspirational event, please email Lauryn Winson at lwinson@carterton.oxon.sch.uk.
