👷♂️ International Men’s Day 2024: Celebrating Positive Role Models in Construction 🏗️ Today marks International Men’s Day 2024. This year, the theme is positive male role models. At PCE, we recognise the men who shape not just our industry, but the people around them, leading with integrity, mentoring the next generation, and showing resilience in the face of challenges. In construction, role models take many forms: ✅ A site manager who fosters teamwork and trust.  ✅ An apprentice challenging stereotypes and breaking new ground.  ✅ A colleague who listens, supports, and inspires others to be their best. This International Men’s Day, we celebrate these examples of leadership and remind everyone of the importance of support and collaboration - on and off the job. It is also a chance to shine an extra light on mental health challenges. Construction is an industry known to suffer in silence, with many reluctant to talk about their mental health. Being a role model isn’t just about working hard and doing a good job, it is about being kind to yourself, to others, and facing life’s challenges in the best way. Talking about your struggles, or being there to listen to someone share theirs, is key to this. 🎥 Fantastic progress at Brent Cross Plot 14, part of Related Argent's £8bn Brent Cross Town Development. 🎥 The project includes a 'kit of parts' of over 4,500 offsite-manufactured, repeatable components. Creating 286 NHBC warranted build-to-rent apartments across 3 blocks rising to 12 storeys, each level is completed within a 7-day cycle, installing over 100 tons of precast and steel daily. This is achieved with a team of just 25 multi-skilled operatives on site. PCE's HybriDfMA approach adds value across all phases of project delivery, from early design through to assembly and beyond. Road to Rehabilitation With support from Serco and the Ministry of Justice UK, PCE has set up an industrial workshop within HMP Fosse Way, employing prisoners to manufacture construction components for UK projects. The workshop simulates real-world employment, providing job roles, responsibilities, and pay to help prepare participants for employment after release.
