In 2019, 27% of new homes in England were timber frame. However, Scotland has been long dominating the market, with 90% of new houses made from timber. As timber is a natural insulator and has enhanced air tightness, it’s one of the most cost-effective choices for an energy-efficient building. With the demand for new builds increasing in line with new housing targets, we hope to see timber frame embraced to further reduce carbon emissions and save energy. #CarbonEmissions #TimberFrameManufacturers #Housebuilder #EnergyEfficiency

Why is a reflective membrane essential for timber frame? We’re delighted to feature on Pinewood Structures Ltd’s latest guest blog, with an article by our Head of Marketing John Mellor. This focuses on the importance of internal and external reflective wall membranes as integral insulators to use as part of the building fabric and how they can help improve the energy efficiency of a building. If you are involved in specification, the housebuilding sector or within the structural timber industry, we hope you find this information valuable. The blog goes back to basics, including information on what a reflective membrane is, how it works as part of the wall build up, the concept of a still airspace and thermal resistance, along with an explanation of emissivity and reflectivity. Read the full blog article to learn more: https://lnkd.in/d5mUJiJA For further information please contact John here on LinkedIn. Thanks to Peter Keogh and all the team at Pinewood Structures Ltd for this collaboration. #TimberFrameManufacturers #Construction #Housebuilders #StructuralTimber #TimberFrame #housebuilding #newbuild

The Structural Timber Association Ltd have released a guide on commercial benefits of building with a structural timber system. This is the first guide in what’s expected to be a series which aims to support commercial teams within construction and housebuilding industries to create a more accurate project appraisal. This is another step to help support housebuilders and contractors to adopt structural timber systems to help the UK meet the new housing targets. The guide will hopefully be helpful to demonstrate the positive value of building using timber 👏 If you’re interested in reading the document, you can do so here: https://lnkd.in/dYi9NqiD #TimberFrameManufacturers #Construction #Housebuilders

Did you know that compared to masonry, timber frame is weather tight quicker which makes it easier to build no matter the weather conditions? As the winter months creep up, the weather can play a big part in reaching development deadlines. This is where timber provides the perfect solution 👉 timber frame homes can be constructed quickly so the structure is weather tight, faster. So come rain or snow, you can be sure that your project can carry on running smoothly, with no weather-related delays. If you’re considering using timber frame for your next project, get in touch with our team and see how we can help. #TimberFrameManufacturers #MMC #NHBC #Offsite
