We've joined forces with Charles Church, Persimmon Homes to collectively donate £6,000 to Birchwood Grove Primary School in Burgess Hill. 🎓 The donation will help fund a new shade sail for their field, providing protection from the sun during the summer and shelter from the rain on wet days. Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) continues to embed into the ESG agenda. 🌳 Our Sustainability Director Josie Cadwallader-Hughes sat down with Perry Cleveland-Peck at The Wall Street Journal to discuss England’s pioneering #BNG framework and our approach to it. Josie shared her experience in how it is possible to balance development with nature conservation, providing a financial incentive for preserving #biodiversity: "The reality is, nature is way more complex than a spreadsheet could be. But this metric, the calculator that’s behind it, provides a degree of clarity for something that is really complex. It sets an equal footing for us and our competitors to be compared against.” Since 2020, our planning applications have scored an average of 15.47% BNG. Planning granted for Zero Carbon homes in Ringmer! 🏡✅ Three weeks after receiving a resolution to grant from Lewes District Council’s Planning Committee, the Section 106 agreement has been signed by all relevant parties.
