It was a huge privilege to collaborate with local Turner-nominated Artist David Shrigley on his giant praying mantis sculpture. Standing at 3 meters tall, the striking bright green sculpture is made from steel and fibreglass and uses an intricate mechanical system to rotate the insect's head. Shrigley loaned the sculpture to Beauchamp College in Oadby, Leicestershire where he previously studied, to highlight the importance of art in education. The mantis, titled The Mantis Muse, or Maxine as we know her, acted as an inspiration for various lessons including Life Drawing. Shrigley states: "I believe art is a fundamental part of how children learn." Christmas is officially here and we are so proud of this year’s Wickedly wonderful festive tree! Now on display in the iconic St Pancras International station 🎄💚 This year we collaborated with MXW, Substance Global, HS1 Ltd and Universal Pictures to create a magical Wicked themed Christmas Tree, celebrating the much anticipated cinematic release of Wicked in theatres across the UK. The charming 11m tree features 6 interactive zones including a seating booth where passersby can listen to the music and score from the film, a booth to watch trailers and behind the scenes clips of the film, an area to get selfies with the Wizard’s head and viewing windows revealing a Land of Oz diorama featuring the Emerald City, Shiz University and Munchkinland. Over 3 months in the making, it’s been a pleasure seeing this project come together and bringing it to life for everyone to enjoy. Super excited to see the Treehouse when it hits our screens in 2025! 😍
The news is out, our children's show is going to be on Channel 5's Milkshake! next year! For the last two years we have been beavering away to make Treehouse a reality. A pre-school children's show that celebrates nature, produced in a net-zero, sustainable way. Treehouse is a fusion of animation and live action, blending beautiful set-design and costumes with immersive and fun storytelling. This whole project was only made possible thanks to the incredible team that brought it to life (special mention to Lilly Pollard and Lowri Williams), to the team at Serious Kids, who have helped guide us since 2023, and to the team at Paramount, who have been the biggest supporters and believers in Treehouse from our very first meeting.
