Show police you care this Christmas and make a donation now. Leave a thank you message with your donation and we’ll share it with those who dedicate their lives to keeping us safe. Your support will help us provide specialist clinical therapy, access to mental health support and financial assistance to those who have been exposed to physical and psychological trauma in their policing role. • Every 10 minutes, a police officer is injured in their job, as a result of being assaulted. The police find themselves in harm’s way protecting the public every single day. The physical and psychological scars of policing take their toll on those who keep us safe, and they carry those scars for life. Many won’t ask for help for fear of ridicule, not being believed, or losing their job. So, they suffer in silence with no end in sight, and no-one to talk to in confidence who can provide the help and care they need. Police Care UK provide specialist clinical therapy and financial assistance to those exposed to physical or psychological trauma in their policing role. We support those who provide your protection, safety and security, and are there when they need us the most. Show police you care this Christmas, with a donation to Police Care UK. • For those working in policing, the relationship between work and personal life may not fit well this time of year. In police families, the top fear of under 5s is their policing parent will not come home safe at night. Officers who told us they find it “very difficult” to take time away from their job for personal or family matters, have Complex PTSD rates over 50% higher than the UK-wide average for police. For those who have left the service with untreated trauma, this time of year can trigger difficult memories and flashbacks. Trauma does not go away.
