Pupil transitions in and out of school has always been close to my heart, between Key Stage 2 and 3 in particular. I have spent years working to support schools, families and pupils to make this as smooth as possible. Early information sharing is key to do this, I outline a few reasons here.

How can an early transfer of transition information benefit everyone involved in the transition process? This week we hosted our first webinar aimed at supporting collaboration between East London local authorities for transition 🔄 We were delighted to be joined by #SixIntoSeven users David Botterill from London Borough of Barking and Dagenham Inclusion Team and Ruth Griffiths and Natasha Orumbie from Lewisham Council Inclusion Team, as well as #ASCL's Margaret Mulholland. Our local authority speakers shared their experience using #SixIntoSeven for transition and we discussed how the platform can support cross-border collaboration and safer data sharing for SEND and vulnerable pupils. It was positive and productive meeting, and great to meet so many new people from neighbouring LAs 🙌 Thanks to all our speakers and attendees. This is a brilliant resource. Anything that is LA wide, GDPR compliant and supports transition and induction as well as this does is worth considering. As always, sharing the workload for staff and having the chance to update throughout the year rather than at peak times also supports staff wellbeing and ultimately benefits all. #transition #induction #support #data
