Wrapping up an incredible few days at (my very first) IBTM World 2024! 📕✈️🌍 This week in Barcelona has been a whirlwind of meetings, sessions, and activations; from discussing the future of our amazing industry, to sharing knowledge and insights - and leaving with a bunch of new connections to boot! There were some truly amazing speakers, but my personal highlights include: 🔸 Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson's powerful reminder of the importance of accessibility and meaningful conversation 🔸 INVNT GROUP and Daniel James Pearce on how to "think global, act local" in events across the world 🔸Simone Heng's really beautiful mediation on grief, loss and the significance of human connection 🔸 AI, 'trending' nostalgia, tactility and transformation with Goc O'Callaghan, Julius Solaris and Louisa O'Connor P.S. As a very proud Gen Z-er, happy to note that we were reported to be the most connected generation in events in 2024 😉 Though there's far too much to include in just one post, I have to say a big thank you to the new and familiar faces that made the week so lovely - Louise Paterson, Mafalda Zambujeira, Chris Jordan, Roger Bradley, Tara Aryan, Andrea Longhini (and many more) for being so welcoming & supportive! Plus, I was completely spoilt with fab networking events during my stay with the brilliant James Dowson and Budapest Convention Bureau, Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI), and Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board, but the biggest thank you of all goes to my amazing hosts at LJS Representation, Faye Banwell & Lisa Stewart! 🥂 I'm very grateful for the opportunity to meet and listen to some of the industry's top talent in such an exciting forum, but more than anything, buzzing to bring all of my learnings back to HQ at Pure Communications Group 🩵 #IBTMWorld2024 #IBTMWorld

Sustainability has been the defining topic of 2024 for Pure. 🌍✨ Today, we are taking a look back at an experience we delivered, that combined our passion for sustainable events with our client’s emphasis on promoting corporate responsibility in the media sector. The XAXIS People & Planet event introduced topics ranging from consumer equality to diminishing the media industry’s carbon footprint. Our team worked to deliver creative solutions for catering and activations, that embraced the sustainable ethos of the project. Our highlight? Definitely the “Plant Your Own Tree” activation we executed in partnership with Treedom. Instead of walking away with yet another event goodie bag, our guests had the opportunity to plant a tree using the company’s user-friendly online platform. 🌳 It’s events like these that remind us how impactful collective action can be. We are looking to work on more projects promoting social and environmental corporate responsibility in 2025. We love being wherever innovation meets creativity and this event was definitely the place to be.✨ Hearing from WPP’s Daniel Hulme about the technical aspects of using Gen AI to push the boundaries of creativity, producing relatable content, and crossing the uncanny valley was brilliantly paired with Romy Miller of Knoops’ practical perspective on selecting strategic agency partners who fit technology to the desired brand experiences at an accessible scale. This is a key point we at Pure always emphasise to our clients: Think about your strategy first and match the technology to your strategic targets!
